Design of a one-room apartment: how to properly decorate the interior. Design options for a one-room apartment, photo 1-room apartment studio design

Let's start with a plan

Even the most compact one-room apartment can become multifunctional housing if you approach the organization of space correctly. If you have any difficulties, please contact the designer. Do not save at this stage, because you will live in the created environment for more than a year, and the atmosphere of the apartment directly affects a person’s performance and health.

It is important to approach the organization of space wisely

In the process of drawing up a plan studio apartment, it is recommended to take into account all requests and wishes for the space.

The easiest way to make an apartment physically more spacious is to remove partition walls between the auxiliary and main rooms. As a rule, in one-room apartments, combining the main room with the kitchen is encouraged. If this option suits you, move on.

Then we proceed to identifying zones: kitchen and living. For this purpose they are used various designs ceiling, floor. Certain areas may have different levels, contrasting colors or covering materials. When working with the main zone, further division of the space is required.

We allocate areas for relaxation and work. The use of simple partitions helps with this. They can be stained glass, fabric, wood. The purpose of such partitions is more symbolic than functional.

There is no place for bulky closets in a one-room apartment. You definitely need to get rid of them. Taking into account the design project, it is worth ordering furniture with compact size and maximum functionality.

More about zoning methods

You can zone a room or the space of a one-room apartment using one or more techniques:

1 various partitions, arched openings. I really like screens - one of the classic techniques for zoning space;

The construction of a podium allows you to highlight the desired area. It can serve as additional storage space or hide a travel bed on wheels, which is very popular today;

3 long shelves, cabinets, shelves with open shelves, a bar counter, a sofa - visually look like partitions if they are placed correctly;

4 sliding doors are also eligible. They create a solid canvas that delimits space, for example, a sleeping area from a working area;

5 finishing materials of different colors and textures;

6 curtains that hide shelves or a dressing room behind them are widely used to create the impression of isolation;

7 multi-level ceilings corresponding to a particular zone;

The magic of colors

Colors play a huge role in the design of an apartment. Light ones visually make the room wider, bright ones narrow it. The interior of a one-room apartment should not be overloaded with a play of colors.

The presence of light-transmitting surfaces, decorative accessories, and mirrors looks ideal in a one-room apartment. Of course, the choice of color depends primarily on preferences, but for a one-room apartment, calm, warm colors are always advantageous.

Part of the room can be painted a different color, while respecting the rules of integrity and unity. The choice of shade is a huge topic for discussion. When we enter a particular room, we get impressions from the chosen colors, because color affects sensations and perceptions.

The color scheme is a solid foundation that builds the entire space. That is why, when choosing this or that color, I make a number of requirements for it. I settle on the one that meets the following criteria:

  • energizes;
  • improves mood;
  • creates feelings of security, calm and serenity;
  • reminds you of pleasant and joyful events;
  • fills with energy;
  • strengthens morale;
  • helps relax;
  • works on the side of space without eating it.

Light color, stripes, simplicity of textures - ideal for a one-room apartment. Here you can use various finishing options, materials and furniture.

TOP 12 ways to visually expand space

There are several tricks to visually expand the space:

2 pastel and light shades in the interior, while the tone of the ceiling should be lighter than the shade of the wallpaper;

3 the presence of mirrors, mirror surfaces;

4 small-sized furniture;

5 furniture made of transparent materials;

6 same flooring for the entire apartment;

7 stripes are a well-known and popular technique. If you lay the flooring perpendicular to a long wall and add striped wallpaper to a short wall, you will have a noticeable effect of expanding the space;

8 color contrast. The use of finishing materials in contrasting colors allows you to expand the room. For example, for a long wall, wallpaper with an unobtrusive pattern in neutral shades is used, for the end walls - brighter and warmer colors;

9 glossy wallpaper visually increases the area because it reflects light;

10 hanging furniture. It turns out that our eye mistakes the floor area for the area of the entire apartment. If the furniture is raised a little above it, then the illusion of free space arises;

11 glossy furniture facades, adding glare to the space;

12 lighting. The light should fall on long walls. How simpler chandelier, all the better. Wall sconces, floor lamps, as well as the combination at different levels add volume to the room.

A modest-sized apartment with a lot of light becomes much more comfortable and visually larger. One lamp is not enough. You will need to purchase additional lamps and place them in different areas, illuminate the furniture with them and delimit the space. Remember that bright light quickly tires.

We arrange auxiliary premises

A complete design of a one-room apartment is impossible without a carefully designed design of auxiliary premises. Kitchen, bathroom and toilet − rational use The area of these rooms and changes in their design allow you to visually increase the space in the apartment. Let's start in order:

Think carefully about your small studio design

  • kitchen. This area should contain everything necessary for preparing and eating food. Will help you save space wall cabinets, compact bedside tables and sideboards. It is best to choose a round table;
  • bathroom and toilet. The combination of a bathroom and a toilet gives excellent aesthetic results. Replacing a bathtub with a shower also frees up square footage;
  • Installing glass and transparent doors is a great way to expand the space. Such doors can be safely installed even in an auxiliary room. It is enough to place blinds on them that can be closed at the right time.

At the planning stage, it is worth paying close attention to the location of outlets. This is especially important in the kitchen area. Well planned location electrical appliances will provide convenience of cooking. Consider the location of the outlet for the washing machine, a place where it will be convenient for you to use a hairdryer.

Placing furniture in a one-room apartment

The arrangement of furniture should be comfortable; in this space you relax, sleep, work, and eat. It's not me the best place for a large bed, as well as bulky wardrobes. What you can use:

1 instead of a bed there is a sofa bed. During the day it will transform the room into a living room, and at night it will turn into a full-fledged sleeping place. As a rule, such pieces of furniture have large storage drawers, which will also save space;

2 built-in wardrobes are another option. Often enough modern models complemented by a mirrored door, which further expands the small space. Thoughtful design with a variety of shelving, wall shelves will make the closet truly indispensable in a small room;

3 functional table. In a one-room apartment it is difficult to place a magazine, desk, kitchen, computer tables simultaneously. You can use a transforming option, which can be easily installed at different heights and sizes. Add to it several folding chairs that can be easily hidden when not needed.

Which style to choose

The most popular interior styles for a one-room apartment are the following solutions:

1 classic− preservation of traditions, ideal for preservatives. It is based on correct proportions, simplicity, and naturalness. Wallpapers are usually designed in warm colors, and the floor is using parquet;

5 high tech– the grandeur of light colors, the absence of a large amount of decor, the predominance of complex textured surfaces combined with minimalism;

6 modern– the principle of creating a single harmonious environment in which each element complements each other.

A studio apartment or a small one-room apartment requires careful planning. In this case, it is not necessary to create partitions and complex structures to separate zones. The best option there will be an absence unnecessary details, which will make the room more spacious. For determining suitable layout a complex of factors is taken into account.

The layout of a small one-room apartment or studio involves arrangement of only the main areas. This takes into account the number of people living in the premises. For a married couple without children or a single person, the optimal layout is one that includes a sleeping area, workplace, TV. The kitchen is separated by a solid wall and serves as a kitchen-dining room. An effective solution for increasing space is to combine a kitchen and a room. This solution is optimal for an apartment with an area of 18, 14 or less square meters. m.

It’s easy to make a spacious room cozy and functional. In a one-room apartment with an area of 33 sq. m. At the same time, a small dressing room is often equipped in a room or hallway, which is much more practical than a classic wardrobe. A partition is installed in the room, separating the bedroom and living room. A simple option is a combination of living room and bedroom, but the furniture should be transformable.

Zoning using partitions

An effective method of dividing space is partitions. Elements various types allow you to zone a one-room apartment and create comfortable conditions. The space is often divided using plasterboard partitions, mobile screens, curtains and other options.

In a one-room apartment with an area of less than 18 square meters. m. It is best to avoid various partitions. The presence of a loggia or balcony allows you to expand the space by insulating and arranging these additional square meters

. As an exception, it is worth separating the sleeping area, but often a transforming sofa is a sleeping place and furniture for the living room. In a small one-room apartment of 14 sq. m. it is very difficult to separate functional zones and therefore in this case partitions are not used. Most difficult option The partition is a plasterboard construction. The construction is practical, convenient, but requires correct installation . This is due to the fact that the material is sensitive to various factors. Wherein plasterboard structures

best suited for a spacious one-room apartment.

Choosing a style for interior design

When arranging a small one-room apartment, the interior style is of particular importance. A room with an area of 33 or 18 or less square meters. m. requires careful development of a design project. At the same time, the main requirement for decorating a small space is to use a minimum number of parts. Massive elements and pieces of furniture do not allow you to organize comfortable areas.

You should avoid many dark tones, which visually make the room less spacious.

Natural shades and materials, natural surface structures, simple elegance and comfort - this is distinctive features apartment design in eco-style. An interior in this style assumes the correct shapes of all objects and maximum naturalness of colors. Furniture, decoration, textiles are harmoniously combined with each other. At the same time, there are no unnecessary elements that make the interior complex and the atmosphere heavy.

A one-room apartment of any size can be easily decorated in eco-style using light shades. Bright elements natural green, moderate yellow, brown tones will emphasize the harmony of combinations.

Provence

Lack of pretentiousness and luxury, slightly worn surfaces, faded fabrics and uneven wall decoration are the main characteristics of the interior in the Provence style. The furnishings do not imply luxury, shiny decor, glossy surfaces and perfect renovation. This design direction is appropriate in country house, but you can create an atmosphere in the Provence style in a one-room apartment of any size.

When decorating a room, it is important to take into account that worn, aged parts should be present in moderation. In a harmonious interior, uneven wall decoration or a shabby table top is enough. Provence suggests a slight shade of simplicity and discreetness.

Art Deco

The interior in the Art Deco style is distinguished by sophisticated luxury, original color combinations and unusual decor. This design option is suitable for a spacious one-room apartment. In the design, it is appropriate to use ceramic figurines, wooden furniture with chrome fittings, and elements made from exotic materials.

Abstract paintings, contrasting combinations, and glossy surfaces are appropriate in an art deco interior. To visually enlarge the space, light shades and rich lighting are often used. The high ceiling allows you to create multi-level structures, adding style and luxury to the room.

Modern

Basic distinctive characteristic Art Nouveau style is a combination of simple elements with elegant details. Furniture from natural wood issued frosted glass, carved facades, shiny fittings. At the same time, all the furnishings are functional and compact, which is optimal for a small one-room apartment.

When decorating, furniture made of light natural wood is appropriate. Finishing and textiles can be milky, pale yellow, peach tones. Beige or light brown details will complement the decor.

Room decoration

When arranging an apartment, finishing requires special attention. Various materials are used for this, but complex structures that take up useful space and are not functional should not be used. Finishing is carried out after careful planning and development of a design project. The color scheme of the interior, the type of surfaces used, and furniture are pre-selected.

Flooring

The floor covering in any apartment should be comfortable, practical and durable. Laminate and linoleum are popular options, and ceramic tiles are often used in the kitchen. The color of the material is selected depending on the style of the interior. For furnishings in light colors, you should not use very dark flooring. At the same time, you can zone the space using a coating of contrasting shades.

Walls

It is easy to decorate walls using various materials. Decorative plaster suitable for a Provence style interior, and the wallpaper is universal. Photo wallpaper or a combination of contrasting coatings help zone the space. For example, the wall behind the sofa should be covered dark wallpaper, and the rest of the space is decorated with light colors.

It is best to decorate the work area in the kitchen with ceramic tiles. You should not use panels in the hallway or room, plasterboard structures. This is due to the fact that such structures occupy useful space.

Ceiling

The high ceiling in the apartment allows you to create original multi-level structures. This finish is appropriate in any interior style. Stretch ceiling also suitable, and the glossy finish is especially impressive. The light-colored background on which the lighting sources are placed also looks original.

There may be light patterns on the ceiling. This type of decoration allows you to avoid using complex elements in the interior.

How to furnish an apartment with furniture

The main requirement for furniture for a one-room apartment is compactness, functionality and the ability to transform. The living room, combined with a sleeping area and a work area, requires the presence of a universal sofa. You also need a TV, small and narrow cabinets, and a table. If you have a large area in the hallway, you should place a narrow closet or replace one of the walls with built-in furniture. An effective solution is a small dressing room, but creating such a zone in a one-room apartment in a Khrushchev-era building is very difficult.

Arrangement ideas

In a one-room apartment with a small area, compact furniture is used. In this case, its location is of particular importance. A work desk is often located near the window. This piece of furniture is more functional on an insulated loggia, if there is such space in the apartment.

The sofa is installed against the wall, and opposite it is best to place the area with the TV. A practical solution is a bed that is separated from the rest of the space by a partition.

Shelves for decorative items, books, flowers are best placed in the corners of the room. At the same time, useful space is saved, and the atmosphere becomes especially comfortable. Above the sofa or bed, shelves, paintings, tapestry and other similar decorative options are appropriate.

If the apartment does not have a wall between the room or kitchen, then a partition is needed. A design that imitates a bar counter is a common design solution.

Lighting, decoration, textiles

When arranging a small living space, it is important to pay attention to lighting. Massive chandeliers, many wall lamps and floor lamps are inappropriate as they take up useful space. That's why optimal solution are spotlights. It is very easy to place a complex of such elements on any type of ceiling, providing bright lighting.

Volumetric and massive decor is inappropriate in a small apartment. Paintings, corner shelves, photo wallpapers, ceiling decorations, mirrors - such elements decorate the space and do not take up much space. In this case, the decor should be of the optimal color, which will ensure harmonious combination and comfort.

Many textile elements make cleaning difficult and time-consuming. Therefore, in a one-room apartment it is best to hang blinds on the windows, roller blinds, light curtains. Textiles of this type will provide protection from sun rays, will emphasize the interior style and comfort.

It’s easy to create unusual partitions The absence of partitions makes the room more spacious

Designing a one-room apartment is not an easy task for a designer. This is due to the fact that a single living space must perform several different functions at once - provide an opportunity for work or study, serve as a place for communication, relaxation and sleep at night, and in some cases, also be a children's room. In addition, the size of such apartments, as a rule, does not allow the designer to use standard solutions; it is not enough to simply fence off a separate corner for each zone; it is also necessary to preserve as much as possible the feeling of free space, which increases the comfort of living.

We present to your attention the most interesting options design of one-room apartments. Some projects have already been implemented, others are at the final design stage.

Interior of a one-room apartment 42 sq. m. (studio PLANiUM)

The use of light colors in the apartment design made it possible to create coziness in a small space and maintain a feeling of spaciousness. The living room has only 17 square meters. m. area, but all the necessary functional areas are located here, and each of them performs several functions at once. Thus, the recreation area, or “sofa”, turns into a bedroom at night, a relaxation corner with an armchair and bookcase Easily converts into a study or playroom for a child.

The corner location of the kitchen made it possible to organize a dining area, and glass door“on the floor” leading to the loggia added light and air.

Modern design of a one-room apartment with an area of 42 sq. m."

Design of a one-room apartment without redevelopment, 36 sq. m. (studio Zukkini)

In this project, the load-bearing wall proved to be an obstacle to changing the layout, so the designers had to work within the given space. The living room was divided into two parts by an open shelving unit - this simple solution is very effective in many cases, allowing for visual delimitation of zones without cluttering the space and reducing the light flux.

The bed is located near the window, and there is also a kind of mini-office - a small desk-bureau with a work chair. The rack functions as a bedside table in the bedroom.

In the back of the room, behind a shelf that acts as a bookcase and a display case for souvenirs, there is a living room with comfortable sofa and a big TV. A wall-sized wardrobe allows you to store a lot of things and does not clutter up the space; its mirrored doors visually double the room and enhance its illumination.

The refrigerator was moved from the kitchen to the hallway, which freed up space for the dining area. Wall cabinets on one of the walls were abandoned to make the kitchen seem more spacious.

Design of a one-room apartment of 40 sq. m. (studio KYD BURO)

A good project that shows how convenient it is to arrange an apartment for one or two people, taking into account all the requirements for a modern level of comfort, without resorting to changing the original planning solution.

The main room is the living room. From the furniture in the room: a comfortable corner sofa, a large-screen TV mounted on a hanging console - on the opposite wall. A spacious storage system is provided for clothes and other necessary items. Present and coffee table, adding completeness to the interior. At night, the living room transforms into a bedroom - the unfolded sofa forms a comfortable place to sleep.

If necessary, the living room can easily be converted into a study: to do this, you need to open two doors of the storage system - the tabletop is hidden behind them, small shelf for documents and books; the work chair extends from under the tabletop.

In order not to burden the space, which is already not too much, the kitchen abandoned the traditional top row of wall shelves, replacing them with open shelves.

At the same time, there are even more places where you can keep kitchen utensils and supplies - the entire wall opposite work area occupies a large storage system with a niche into which a sofa is built. Next to it is a small dining group. A rationally organized space allowed not only to maintain free space, but also to reduce the cost of kitchen furniture.

Project “Design of a one-room apartment of 40 sq. m."

Design of a one-room apartment 37 sq. m. (Geometrium studio)

The project of a one-room apartment has 37 sq. m. every square centimeter was used. The sofa, armchairs and coffee table, forming a relaxation corner, are raised onto the podium and thereby highlighted from the total volume. At night, a sleeping place is pulled out from under the podium: an orthopedic mattress ensures a good night's sleep.

The television panel opposite is built into a large storage system - its volume made it possible to correct the initially irregular, too elongated shape of the room. Beneath it is a living flame, covered by the glass of a bio-fireplace. The box above the storage system hides a screen that can be lowered to watch movies.

The small kitchen accommodates three functional areas at once:

  1. a storage system with a worktop and kitchen equipment is built along one of the walls, forming a kitchen;
  2. near the window there is a dining area consisting of a round table and four designer chairs around it;
  3. There is a lounge area on the windowsill where you can relax and drink coffee over a friendly conversation while enjoying the views from the window.

Project of a one-room apartment with a separate bedroom (BRO design studio)

Even in a small one-room apartment, you can have a separate bedroom, and for this you do not need to move walls or build the space like a studio: the kitchen occupies a separate volume and is completely fenced off from the rest of the apartment.

The project provides for the location of the bedroom near the only window. There is a standard double bed, a narrow chest of drawers that serves as a dressing table, and one bedside table. The role of the second bedside table is performed by a low partition between the bedroom and the living room - its height allows you to maintain the feeling of a large space and provides daylight to the entire living area.

Lilac wallpaper with an elegant pattern harmonizes with mustard color walls in the kitchen design, made in the same style as the room.

Project “Design project for a one-room apartment with a bedroom”

Apartment project 36 sq. m. (designer Yulia Klyueva)

Maximum functionality and impeccable design are the main advantages of the project. The living room and bedroom were visually separated by wooden slats: starting from the bed, they reach the ceiling and can change orientation similar to blinds: in the daytime they “open” and let light into the living room, in the night they “close” and isolate the sleeping area.

Light in the living room is added by the lower lighting of the console chest of drawers, effectively highlighting the main decorative piece of furniture: a coffee table made from the cut of a huge trunk. On the chest of drawers is a biofuel fireplace, and above it is a TV panel. Opposite is a comfortable sofa.

The bedroom has a dual-purpose wardrobe; it stores not only clothes, but also books. Bed linen is stored in a drawer under the bed.

Due to the angular location kitchen furniture and an island oven, we managed to organize a small dining area.

Project of a corner one-room apartment of 32 sq. m. (designer Tatyana Pichugina)

In the project of a one-room apartment, the living space is divided into two: private and public. This was possible thanks to the corner location of the apartment, which resulted in the presence of two windows in the room. The use of IKEA furniture in the design allowed us to reduce the project budget. Bright textiles were used as decorative accents.

A ceiling-to-floor storage system separated the bedroom and living room. On the living room side, the storage system has a niche for a TV, as well as shelves for storing things. Near the wall opposite there is a structure made of drawers, in the center of which sofa cushions form cozy place for relax.

On the bedroom side, it has an open niche that replaces the owners with a bedside table. Another cabinet is suspended from the wall - you can place a pouf under it to save space.

The main color in the design of a small kitchen is white, which makes it visually more spacious. The dining table folds down to save space. Its natural wood countertop softens the strict style of decoration and makes the kitchen more comfortable.

Interior of a one-room apartment in a modern style (designer Yana Lapko)

The main condition set before the designers was to maintain the isolated position of the kitchen. Additionally, it was necessary to provide quite a large number of storage places. The living area was to accommodate a bedroom, living room, dressing room and a small office for work. And all this - on 36 square meters. m.

The main idea of the design of a one-room apartment is the separation of functional areas and their logical combination using contrasting colors of the spectrum: red, white and black.

Red in the design actively highlights the relaxation area in the living room and the office on the loggia, logically connecting them to each other. The elegant black and white pattern decorating the headboard is repeated in a softer color combination in the decoration of the office and bathroom. A black wall with a TV panel and storage system visually moves the sofa part away, expanding the space.

The bedroom was placed in a niche, having built a podium - it can be used for storing things.

Project of a one-room apartment 43 sq. m. (studio Guinea)

Having received at their disposal a standard “one-room apartment” of the 10/11/02 PIR-44 series with a ceiling height of 2.57, the designers decided to use the square meters provided to them to the maximum, while dispensing with the design of a one-room apartment without redevelopment.

Convenient location doorways allowed us to allocate space in the room for a separate dressing room. The partition was lined with white decorative brick, as was part of the adjacent wall - the brick in the design highlighted a seating area with an armchair and a decorative fireplace.

The sofa, which serves as a sleeping place, was highlighted with patterned wallpaper.

A separate resting place was also created in the kitchen, replacing two chairs in the dining area with a small sofa.

Apartment design 38 sq. m. in a standard house, KOPE series (Aiya Lisova Design studio)

The combination of white, gray and warm beige shades created a relaxing, calm atmosphere. The living room has two zones. Near the window there is a large bed, opposite which, above a tall narrow chest of drawers, there is a TV panel mounted on a bracket. It can be turned towards a small sitting area with a sofa and coffee table, accented by a plain beige floor carpet and located in the back of the room.

The upper part of the wall opposite the bed is decorated with a huge mirror attached to the wall on a special frame. This adds light and makes the room visually much more spacious.

The corner kitchen provides plenty of storage space. Combination of gray oak fronts of the lower row of cabinets, white gloss of the upper ones and a shiny surface glass apron adds a play of textures and shine.

Design of a one-room apartment 33 sq. m. (designer Oleg Kurgaev)

The apartment is designed in a modern style - a lot of wood, natural materials, nothing superfluous - only what is necessary. To separate the sleeping area from the rest of the living space, glass was used - such a partition takes up practically no space, allows you to maintain illumination of the entire room and at the same time makes it possible to isolate the private part of the apartment from prying eyes - for this purpose a curtain is used, which can be closed if desired.

In the decoration of an isolated kitchen, white is used as the main color, with the additional color of natural light wood.

One-room apartment 44 sq. m. with a nursery (studio PLANiUM)

An excellent example of how competent zoning can achieve comfortable living conditions in a limited space for a family with children.

The room is divided into two parts by a structure built specially for this purpose, which hides a storage system. On the children's side there is a closet for storing clothes and toys, on the living room side, which serves as a bedroom for parents, there is a spacious storage system for clothes and other things.

In the children's area there was a loft bed, under which there was a place for schoolchildren to study. The “adult part” serves as a living room during the day, and at night the sofa turns into a double bed.

To visually enlarge the room, the designer used standard means - the shine of glossy and mirror surfaces, functional places storage and light colors of finishing materials.

The total area was divided into three zones: children's, parents' and dining areas. The children's part is highlighted with a gentle greenish tone of decoration. There is a baby crib, a chest of drawers, also known as a changing table, and a feeding chair. In the parental area, in addition to the bed, there is a small living room with a TV panel and a study - the window sill was replaced with a tabletop, and an armchair was placed next to it.

Project “Design of a small one-room apartment for a family with a child”

Modern interiors continue to prove that there are no small spaces or bad layouts. All the shortcomings of the space can be hidden using the principles of zoning, as well as by wisely choosing colors, decor and furniture. To inspire you, we have created a selection of 10 beautiful projects design of one-room apartments. Enjoy watching!

This one-room apartment with an area of 43 sq.m. located in a Stalinist building and was intended to be rented out. The designer of the project, Daria Nazarenko, decided to move away from the universal design typical for this type of real estate and created an interior with individual features. Small details, such as panels or patterned textiles, reflect the tastes of the hostess, turning into bright accents against the background of restrained decoration.

Naturally, one of the main tasks was to save precious square meters, of which there are already few in the apartment. All partitions were dismantled, transforming the space into a kind of studio.

Multifunctional furniture played an important role. So, in the middle of the room there is an object that simultaneously serves as a table, a console behind the sofa and a small partition that smoothly divides the room. A spacious bed was built into a special niche, and the bathroom was hidden behind a sliding door.

This project is an excellent example of how to make a modern home for a bachelor out of an apartment that has been destroyed over the years, inherited from a grandmother. And this is proof that even a loft, which loves a lot of free space, can fit into the interior of a one-room apartment of 38 sq.m.

Designers from the Odnushechka studio had to deal with a complex room geometric shape, as well as angular location. By removing unnecessary partitions, three large windows appeared in the small room, which let in a large amount of light and make it more spacious. The small bathroom was enlarged due to the corridor.

Almost all the furniture is made to order, adapting to the features of the interior. They decided to replace the table with a bar counter, which separates the living space from the kitchen. Various finishes walls makes the design of the apartment more diverse and complex.

A one-room apartment with an area of 42 sq.m., designed by Evgenia Ermolaeva, is located in the Moscow region. The owner prefers environmental friendliness, so the designer incorporated as much wood and plants into the interior as possible. The bedroom is hidden in a kind of glass dome, bringing a feeling of lightness.

To save space, it was decided to minimize the dining room, which is limited to small chairs and a bar counter. There was also a place in the apartment home theater and a spacious built-in wardrobe in the hallway area.

Another project from Evgenia Ermolaeva, which clearly demonstrates that even bright and eccentric pop art can look beautiful in a one-room apartment with an area of only 37 sq.m. “Odnushka” is designed for a young couple, which makes the initial requirement doubly difficult: to accommodate everything necessary for life.

The redevelopment included dismantling the balcony, widening the opening between the kitchen and the corridor, and highlighting the work area using a podium step. The designer wanted to keep the double bed, while creating space for a full-fledged living room. The transformable bed, which is located in the closet, helped to cope with this task. A large wardrobe was placed along the wall, serving as the main storage space in the apartment. Mirrors on its sliding doors help to visually expand the area.

The color palette is based on the contrast of muted and bright shades. The floor pattern helps in zoning the space, highlighting each zone. Despite small sizes, the interior looks stylish and aesthetically pleasing.

Designers from the Novosibirsk studio Artugol managed to combine in a small one-room apartment with an area of 40 sq.m. rationality, individuality and aesthetics, decorating all this with notes of brutality.

The layout includes a living room, a bedroom with a king-size bed, a kitchen, a bar area, and a separate bathroom. The contrast of cold and warm shades with deep textures gives the space a special style.

It was possible to create a niche for the bedroom with the help of a built-in wardrobe, which divided the hallway and the room. The bed is located on a podium, which acts as additional storage space.

Horizontal wooden panels seem to frame the space, making it visually wider and more comfortable. Using one palette of three colors enhances this effect, creating a cohesive and complete look.

6. One-room apartment in minimalist style

The customers wanted to transform this small one-room apartment with an area of 40 sq.m. to modern apartments filled with lightness and air. Oksana Tsymbalova from the House of the Sun studio worked on the project, and she managed to embody all the smallest nuances in the interior.

The accommodation consists of a bedroom, living room, kitchen, small dining room, bathroom and ample storage space. To achieve this result, the designer took the principle of functionality as a basis, using every square meter, while maintaining the very desired space and lightness.

After the redevelopment, a small utility unit appeared in the apartment, which was created by enlarging the bathroom and moving the door.

Kitchen area includes corner kitchen. To save space, furniture creates a single line, leaving free space. The height of the ceilings made it possible to organize storage spaces the full height of the walls. At the same time, stylistic unity and light colors smooth out all corners, leveling out clutter.

In the bedroom area there is a workplace, which is separated from the living room by a wooden partition with an interesting texture.

This apartment really benefits from having just one, but spacious room with an area of 45 sq.m. Thanks to multifunctional furniture, the space looks very stylish, and each zone flows smoothly into another.

A small partition separates the kitchen area and the workplace, which fits into a niche next to the window. The layout is L-shaped, with the dining area shaped like a corridor. The bedroom, which includes a bed and two bedside tables, was placed behind a translucent rounded partition, thereby hiding it from prying eyes.

The interior of the apartment only benefited from the use modern style, which is embodied here in the smooth forms of furniture, natural colors and smooth surfaces. This combination expands the area and does not overload the room with unnecessary details.

This studio apartment, designed by Martins Architects, has virtually no clear boundaries, even where they are needed. Here, too, it was decided to hide the bedroom behind a glass partition, but this time transparent, in which you can use curtains for privacy.

Zoning is ensured by different colors and materials. So, the kitchen area is highlighted with black brickwork walls, as well as light, glossy furniture that contrasts with the white, green and brown colors of the rest of the interior. These various design solutions are “reconciled” by a light wooden floor and a white ceiling.

There is never too much space! Big square usually spent irrationally. And those of us who live in one-room small apartments, willy-nilly, gets used to the fact that you need to use every centimeter of your home in the most thoughtful way. Let's consider best ideas for the design of a one-room apartment.

Interior design of a small apartment

Most of us will not always be able to think through the interior of a one-room apartment correctly on our own; we often have to resort to the help of professional interior studios. This is especially true for project development, since combining all functions in small space very hard. A small apartment should have a recreation area, a work area, a place for meals, a children's area, and at the same time, everyone in a small apartment should have free space!!! Not an easy task... But there is no need to worry, I will give you many tips and rules for arranging and renovating a small apartment, which will become the subject of admiration for others.

This section contains the most interesting tips from designers that will greatly ease your headache about small-sized interiors. So, let's begin:

  1. Minimalism can be considered the best style for decorating the interior of a small apartment.. And this does not mean at all that the only furniture in the house will be a sofa, or even worse, a mattress on the floor. No, this does not apply to the minimalism movement at all. You really don’t need a lot of furniture, but each item should combine several purposes at the same time. When choosing furniture, pay attention to transformable items. It could be a table that turns into a bed in the evening. Or a sofa with a built-in tabletop instead. And of course, the ideal option for small apartments would be custom-made furniture. This will significantly increase the free space, since the furniture will occupy only that part of the room that is necessary.

  2. The interior should be “airy”- we will definitely need mirror surfaces, partitions made of thin translucent fabric or frosted tempered glass. Small spaces need to be zoned correctly!!! If there is no need for partitions, we can delimit the room when finishing. You just need to combine finishing materials correctly. The floor can also be covered with different materials - for example, in the kitchen and in the hallway, and the guest area is separated by laminate. At the same time, it would also be nice to lay out a small rug in the “sleeping area.” This is one of possible options zoning in a small space. We still need to emphasize different zones in the apartment with light, then the overall picture in the house will become accurate.

  3. Dark shades or, conversely, too bright shades cannot be used everywhere in a small apartment. Even if you really want to, you can and even need to make a couple of accents. The interior looks very unusual, in which the ceiling is made in a rich dark color, and the walls and floor are made white. Or a more traditional option, when everything is the other way around. The ceiling and walls are light or white, and the floor is made in dark colors. Well, naturally, it is better to give preference to light shades.

  4. If the apartment has non-load-bearing walls that can be dismantled without permission, then it is better to do this. They cut up space and make small things even smaller. Studio apartments may not be suitable for everyone, but on an area of 36 square meters there is a lot of useful items that, if properly arranged, will turn the apartment into 56 square meters... Only, unfortunately, visually.

  5. In Khrushchev houses there is a tiny room - a magical pantry, in which many people still store various rubbish. Here you can convert it into a closet yourself. And this can be not just a wardrobe, but also a full-fledged storage system, if you approach the issue wisely. Then we will no longer have to install a bulky box called a wardrobe in the room! And now we have a couple more meters and it will be free.

  6. In apartments with high ceilings you can arrange sleeping area above ground!!! And it's not a joke. A loft bed is quite appropriate for adults and respectable uncles and aunts. And for greater strength, the base of our nest can be made as open or closed cabinet. But the frame must be strong, it is best to order such a miracle nest from experienced furniture makers who will calculate the load according to our, dare I say it, dimensions.

  7. To make our one-room apartments visually more spacious, we need to avoid overcrowding one single room - stop buying figurines while traveling! Windows should also not be overloaded with fabric; it is better to use thin veils or rather than lambrequins. You can hide from neighbors' eyes if you install it on glass made of thick fabric. And by the way, I forgot to say about household appliances. Small apartments must have mobile equipment, or rather the owners, that is, you and me, must have it. It is better to install the TV on a swivel bracket, and immediately mount the acoustics on the ceiling of the room.

A small one-room apartment should be functional and modern; grandma’s closets should be removed and replaced with transformable pieces of furniture.

About the design of an apartment in Khrushchev

A room, a kitchen, an entrance hall, a combined bathroom, a small storage room and a balcony, if the floor is not the first - that’s all the space of a one-room Khrushchev apartment in Moscow and other cities in the post-Soviet space. There is only about 28 square meters of area on which we must place everything we need. I can already see the rounded eyes of the readers, and the silent question - how?!? The organization of space in such apartments is on par with functionality. Nothing is impossible - and that's true.

I'll start from the entrance. The first room is . Usually this is a narrow corridor, full of everything, but nowhere to step. To make the hallway in a Khrushchev building spacious and at the same time preserve the functions assigned to it, you can do this:

  1. If there is an adjacent storage room, we convert it into a spacious closet, and on the hallway wall you can hang a couple of hooks for casual clothes. A mirror will visually expand the space and is convenient to use before leaving the house. You can install a narrow shoe rack with a seat on top or put poufs with voids inside.
  2. The geometry of the hallway in a Khrushchev building can be different. For elongated rooms, you can use a compact wardrobe or. But a mirror, preferably a tall one, should be in any home. But unnecessary details (vases, shelves for small items, etc.) must be abandoned. It is better to make the room light, and this applies not only to the color of the hallway, but also to the lighting. It is most beneficial to install the light source close to the mirror.

The second room that needs rationalization is the Khrushchev kitchen. Usually six squares, we do not have the possibility of transferring communications (gas, sewerage). Therefore, they usually select a set of furniture with built-in appliances. The dining area is best placed near the window, and the table can be attached to the wall and removed if necessary. The window sill in the kitchen must be used. Moreover, if you install a wide window sill, you can make a table or additional working space. The set is placed either on 2 walls, or along one. I personally have been bored with the last option for a long time.

Finally, the most interesting thing - living room in a one-room Khrushchev house. The task can be in several directions:

  1. Arrange the living room and...
  2. Combine the work area with a relaxation area, living room and. This option is more complicated and is relevant for family people.

It is better to connect the bathroom if the layout allows. Load-bearing walls apartment buildings can't be touched. There is no need to increase the area; it is better to install a toilet and washbasin. And put the washing machine in the kitchen in a set with built-in appliances. Or, leave it in the same place.

Our room will combine several purposes at once - a guest room, a relaxation area and a work space. We choose compact furniture, a sofa or bed with drawers for linen, poufs or armchairs are also better to take with storage compartments, a table is compact and transformable. At all mobility of furniture and the ability to use it in several areas is a very important point when purchasing.

The interior should become cozy, functional and comfortable, so I would recommend that you buy only what you can really imagine in your apartment. And before purchasing, it is better to already have some kind of clear arrangement of objects in the apartment in order to determine the required size in advance. The Internet can help you!

Interior of an apartment with an area of 40 sq m

An area of 40 square meters is quite sufficient to accommodate not only essential items and furniture. 3-4 people (for example, a family with a child) can easily live on it and not get in each other’s way. Only all this will become possible if you arrange the furniture correctly and use every centimeter of space wisely.

The first thing I want to focus on is storage systems. Corner wardrobes or a full-length tall wardrobe with sliding doors, these are the most acceptable options for small apartments. The storage system can be placed in the hallway, if its width is more than 300 cm, then there will be enough space for passage, and a lot will fit in such a cabinet, of course, provided that it is made to order and its height corresponds to the height of the room. By the way, the floor and ceiling levels throughout the entire area of the apartment should be the same. Then the idea of the apartment will be uniform, different zones are highlighted with materials that match in color. Although it is possible to make the floor entirely from one coating. Unless you lay tiles in the bathroom. Although it is much more practical if the tiles are also in the kitchen, and part of the hallway near the front door can be paved floor tiles. If you decide to do this, then you need to monitor the floor level after finishing.

Doors should open compactly, so I would recommend using folding doors. Give up swing doors, they eat up a lot of space, which is better used more efficiently.

Compact and functional furniture – best friend small apartments.

You can use folding or sliding (sliding) furniture. If you make a podium on the floor, you can hide a bed or linen drawers in it, or you can buy a wardrobe-bed or a transformer that can easily be turned into a full-fledged bed if turned over. In general, any transformable furniture will be an excellent option for one-room apartments. no exception - immediately buy one that has at least a bottom drawer for storing linen or toys, and even better, extendable beds that grow with the child.

You can at least turn it into another “closet”; shelves on the sides, a podium or similar solutions will allow you to remove all unnecessary things from the house and free up more space for a small sofa for guests. Nearby you can put a stylish table, which will serve as a work area. And hang open shelves on the walls for small items.

One-room apartment 46-50 sq m

How to arrange several zones from a one-room apartment up to 50 square meters, and at the same time leave maximum free space? Of course, the ideal option would be not to build walls, but to demolish them. But more often than not, they don’t exist anyway, because apartments with an area of 46 to 5 square meters are often immediately considered studios. But zoning is still necessary, you can’t do without it. You can’t just put furniture in a room and consider this room comfortable. The area seems to be not small, for comparison two-room apartments in Khrushchev's five-story buildings they have an area of about 42 square meters. But we have 50 of them, which is good news.

Techniques that are used to design small apartments are similar to each other - light colors, multi-level lighting, proper arrangement of furniture, functionality of the room, and then everything depends on the desire of the owner. This also applies to the choice of stylistic direction; the designer must take into account the number of permanent residents and other nuances, so that in the end the project becomes comfortable for everyone.

Mirror and glass surfaces, air niches and partitions, well-equipped storage system, thoughtful arrangement household appliances in the kitchen and so on - all this is very important. Decor in a small apartment does not have to be everywhere, it is enough to put it in several places interesting items, and put all the little things in closed shelves. If you need a sleeping and relaxation area, you can install a not very wide bed and separate it from the rest of the area with a screen, partition, or structure made of plasterboard sheets, plexiglass and other materials. If you need to install a children's bed, you can install it in the parents' sleeping area, but it is better not to hang the TV there. And install it in the guest area on a bracket in front of a small cozy sofa, which, if necessary, can be expanded and used as a second bed.

You can use any materials for finishing, but it is better to focus on matching collections. On the one hand, to support the idea of zoning, and on the other, not to spoil the overall impression. Still, the interior should remain stylish and original, but without frills.

Apartment interior for a family with a child

It is impossible to give a clear answer to how to properly furnish a one-room apartment for a family with a child. Much depends on the area of the room, the needs of each family member, and the age of the child.

It is important to focus on the functionality of the entire space of the apartment; not a single corner should be wasted, but forcing all the furniture into one line along the wall is also not rational. Therefore, first, we need to think about additional storage systems - we can make opening podiums, and install a bed, desk or something else on top. Loft beds are perfect for a child in a one-room apartment, especially if it has a mechanism with a roll-out table and a built-in wardrobe. This way the child will have his own corner, and it won’t take up much space.

There can be no talk of installing a bed for adults in a one-room apartment. Adults will have to sleep on a fold-out sofa. But they can also be comfortable, and some models have an orthopedic mattress and are modest in size.

In the hallway or pantry, we again install shelves and make lighting so that you can easily navigate there. In general, the light in a small apartment should be installed in several levels, this will further delimit the space of the living room and highlight zones. It is better to use sliding doors in a small one-room apartment, but if you want to install hinged doors, then they should open towards the wall. It’s just better to choose a canvas that is as close in color as possible to the wall decor, then it won’t catch your eye and the room won’t be visually reduced.

We combine the bathtub with the toilet, and install a set with built-in appliances. It is better to hide the refrigerator behind the cabinet door, and make the dining area more compact - you can use poufs with opening seats, and instead of a backrest, hang several soft decorative pillows.

Photos of one-room apartment projects

The designers have prepared many ready-made options for you; the projects show the location of the furniture and highlight all the zones.

How to properly renovate an apartment

To make a one-room apartment comfortable, cozy and functional, you need to do a lot of work to prepare the room. Competent repairs must be planned. And the stages of repair are as follows:

  1. Replacement of old communications taking into account zoning - sockets should be in the places where they are needed, and not 3 meters before the devices, the same with other communications.
  2. Leveling the floor taking into account the height of the finishing (tile adhesive plus tile thickness, laminate backing and the panel itself, etc.). The final level must be the same throughout the entire area of the apartment.
  3. In parallel, you can install new windows and glaze the balcony, insulate the loggia.
  4. Alignment of walls and construction of niches and partitions, if they are provided for by our project. Then all this needs to be puttied and rubbed. The result is perfect walls.
  5. We can start leveling the ceiling or installation tension fabric. Or specially trained people will do it for you; resorting to the help of builders and finishers is especially beneficial if they are doing a comprehensive renovation of the entire apartment.
  6. Further you can start finishing.
  7. Spring-cleaning.
  8. And the most exciting stage, furniture arrangement and connecting all devices.
