In rooms with high humidity, before installing the rack structure, the ceiling must be treated with a primer with an antiseptic.

In cases where installation is carried out in rooms with high humidity, it is necessary to pre-treat old ceiling primer with antiseptics or other composition containing chlorine. After all, the design of the suspended type impairs ventilation under the ceiling and high humidity contributes to the appearance of fungus. Such treatment will prevent the appearance of the fungus or get rid of the existing one.

To work on the creation of a metal rack ceiling, you will need the following tools and materials:

• ceiling panels;
• suspensions;
• guide profiles;
• load-bearing tires (traverses);
• screws;
• plastic dowels;
• cord for painting works;
• fishing line;
• building or laser level;
• screwdriver;
• screwdriver;
• perforator;
• grinder or scissors for cutting metal.

The design of the frame for the rack ceiling made of metal

1. Installation of the frame should begin with leveling and marking. Going down from the base ceiling by about 20 cm, horizontal marks are beaten off with the help of a painting cord and a building level. Of course, if a laser level is available, the work on marking surfaces will go much faster.
2. Installation of the guide profile on the walls. Along the perimeter of the entire ceiling, guide profiles are attached to the walls. Usually the guide profile has a length of 3 m, but as needed it can be easily cut with scissors for cutting metal. Also, a grinder equipped with a round disk is perfect for cutting a profile. Its use will help to avoid bending (deformation) of the profile during cutting.
3. The guide profile is installed in increments of 0.5 - 0.6 m. The installation accuracy is checked using a level. There is no need to fit the profile to the corner with pedantic precision. The resulting overlap will hide under the ceiling slats.
4. Perpendicular to the rails at the level of the guide profiles, several rows of fishing line are pulled.
5. Ceiling hangers are installed along the stretched lines at the same level. The step of fastening the suspensions should be in the range of 100 - 120 cm, but no more. The distance from the extreme suspension to the wall should be about 30 cm.
6. Traverses are installed at the same height as the entire structure. This is necessary so that the metal slats fixed on the traverses freely enter the guide profile fixed on the wall.
7. Perpendicular to the suspension line, the fishing line is again stretched and the traverses are mounted. The frame is ready.

Note. If the ceiling has a perfectly flat surface without all sorts of drops or slopes, then it is possible to fix the traverses directly to existing ceiling without the use of hangers.
