Removing the old door

First of all, we cut the hinges into the door leaf. To do this, you need to measure 200 mm from the top and bottom of the door.
We apply the hinge to the door and draw an outline.
Further along the contour, using a chisel and hammer, we make a notch depth equal to the thickness of the loops.
Attaching the doors to the frame and we already outline the outline on the box with further cutting out the recess.

An excessively wide opening is often reduced using wooden beam. Its dimensions must correspond to the “extra” width. Such a beam is installed on the side of the door post, where its hinges are located. The beam is attached to the rack with small cross-section universal screws, and it is connected to the wall with anchors. The scheme of work is as follows:

We measure a distance of 20 cm on the stand (along the inside) from the top edge.
Apply the loop to the selected area, outline its outline (use a regular pencil).
When folded, the loop leaves free place(gap) from the rack to the canvas is 0.4 cm. We calculate the installation depth of the fitting element, taking into account its thickness.
Using a chisel (or better yet, a router) we make the area for the loop.

Having installed the hinges on the stand, we apply this structure to the canvas and make marks about the areas where the hinges are located.

Do-it-yourself door frame assembly and installation

Attach (strictly perpendicular) to the ceiling using a stand. If you are installing an interior product made of MDF, in order to avoid cracking, you first need to make holes with a drill and only then install the screws. Important! Place the box in the opening, and then securely fix it using spacers and wedges.

The last step is foaming the gap between the wall and the door frame. Once the foam has hardened, the spacers will need to be removed. All you have to do is install the trim yourself. Then we measure the distance from the indicated points to the floor. Next, the racks need to be trimmed in height, taking into account the measurement results. However, you need to keep in mind that the difference in level should not exceed three mm.

And we transfer it to the door frame, taking into account a gap of minus 1-2 cm on all sides to allow foaming. We recommend double-checking the dimensions of the structure several times.

Step 4. Installing the box in the opening.

We place the box in the doorway. Level it up. We check the correctness and evenness of the box assembly by hanging the door on its hinges and closing it.

The box installed in the opening must be secured with self-tapping screws. Remove the end decorative strip and drill 7-8 through holes on each side. The distance between the holes is 25-30 cm.

The wood drill is not designed for drilling walls; we only use it to drill fiberboard boxes. Then we again check the position of the box using a level, since it could have shifted during the drilling process. If there are no changes, we begin to drill the wall. Using a thin concrete drill with a diameter of 4 mm, through the holes in the box, we apply markings to the wall. You cannot completely drill through the wall through the frame, as this can damage it. The hole diameter is 4 mm; if you make it larger, the screw heads will fall out. Next, remove the box from the opening and begin making holes using a 6 mm diameter drill. If the wall is made of brick, the holes for installation should be in solid brick, and not in the masonry joint, in which the dowels hold very poorly.

Dowels are installed in the finished holes. We fix the box in the wall using self-tapping screws. For convenience, you can use a screwdriver or drill with an attachment for the screw head. Do not screw in the screws completely; the box may bend. To avoid deflection, wedges can be lined. To check the evenness and absence of distortions, during the process of screwing in the screws, additionally check the box for level.
