DIY snow globe. Master class with step-by-step photos

New Year a very bright and fabulous holiday. On this day, it is customary to give gifts to everyone and most of us are used to buying them in stores. But how much more pleasant it is to receive original gifts from loved ones that they made with their own hands. Gifts given by children and made by them personally are especially appreciated. An original gift for the new year can serve as a souvenir - snowball. It will look especially fabulous under a fluffy Christmas tree.

Even a child can make such a souvenir, and it looks very dignified and symbolic. This gift can be given to a person of any age. And with a little imagination, you can even do something unique. Instead of figurines, you can immerse a laminated photo or other small meaningful object inside the jar. If it breaks down in water, coat it with a water-repellent varnish. How to make a New Year's snow globe? Everything is very simple.

To create it we will need:

  • A nice little jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Items you want to load into the jar.
  • Artificial snow, which you can also make with your own hands.
  • White paraffin candle.
  • Glitter.
  • Waterproof or silicone glue.
  • Distilled or boiled water.
  • Glycerol.

First of all, we prepare the scene that will be inside the jar. To do this, we place and glue all the objects onto the inside of the lid with silicone glue. If the figures need to be immersed in snowdrifts, apply glue to the lid and sprinkle with artificial snow. You can replace it with a white paraffin candle.

To do this, cool the candle in the refrigerator and rub it on a fine grater, then sprinkle it onto the glue in a thick layer and press it firmly. This way you can make the required number of layers and get the intended result. And if the paraffin is heated to a soft state, then you can immediately make the necessary snowdrifts, cool them and glue them to the inside of the lid along with other objects.

Silicone glue takes a long time to dry, so in order for the snow globe craft to turn out high-quality and durable, you should be patient and allow the glue to dry completely.

Fig.1 Figurine for a snow globe

While our composition is drying, we prepare a jar for the snow globe. We wipe it with alcohol. This is done so that the water does not become cloudy over time, but remains clear.

Then in a separate container we dilute warm water and glycerin. The more glycerin, the thicker the solution will be and the slower the snowflakes will fall. If you want snowflakes to fall very slowly, use glycerin without water. Pour the resulting mixture into the jar, but not to the brim.

It should be taken into account that the composition on the lid will also need space in the jar and excess liquid will flow over the edges.

Fig.2 Preparing the solution for the snow globe

After glycerin and water have been poured into the jar, pour it into it. artificial snow and sparkles. Try throwing a few snowflakes at first and see how they fall to the bottom. If they fall too slowly, add a little water. If too fast, add glycerin. Artificial snow for a snow globe can be replaced with white sand or finely grated paraffin. Glitter can be purchased at the “Everything for Nails” or “Everything for Creativity” store. White sand Sold at pet stores, in the fish section.

Try not to add too much glitter or snow, as the water may appear cloudy when flipping and the snow globe will be ruined.

Fig.3 Add glitter for the snow globe

Once the glitter and fake snow are added to the jar, the fun part comes. crucial moment. You need to check that all the figures are well glued to the lid and only then immerse them in the solution. Excess liquid will begin to spill over the edges, so we advise you to substitute a saucer. If after you lower the lid with the figures into the solution, there is still free place, add more solution. It is better to do this yourself with a syringe.

Now that everything is ready, carefully wipe it off excess liquid from the thread of the can and apply glue to it. Then screw the lid tightly. Do not immediately turn the container over. Wait for the glue to dry under the lid. When everything is dry, you can see what happened.

If there are any air bubbles left in the jar, try removing them with a syringe. You can also add liquid with a syringe if there is not enough liquid. If water leaks from under the lid, you need to turn the jar over, wipe it dry and coat it again with glue, then let it dry.

Fig.4 Finished craft - snow globe

Your snow globe is almost ready, all that remains is to decorate the lid beautifully. To do this, you can use multi-colored foil, openwork ribbons or beads. You can also cover the lid with polymer clay and paint it acrylic paints. This will be the final part of the work. Now you know how to make a snow globe at home. It is absolutely not difficult, and the gift turns out to be very original and unique. By decorating your home with it, you will create a unique New Year's atmosphere.

Hello, dear readers! We all know factory-made glass balls with liquid and a beautiful composition, which, when shaken, “activate” snowfall inside the container, but not everyone knows that a similar item can be made independently. That is why today we will tell you how to make a snow globe with your own hands, practically from scrap materials. We recommend involving children in the process of creating such a wonderful item; it will be very interesting for them to observe and perhaps even participate in its recreation.

DIY glass ball with snow.

What you will need:

  1. A small jar with a screw cap (you can buy it specially glass jar with baby puree).
  2. Nail polish.
  3. Polymer glue or Moment.
  4. White tinsel or artificial snow.
  5. Scissors.
  6. White and silver glitter.
  7. A suitable figurine is clay, ceramic or plastic (sold in any souvenir departments).
  8. Glycerin (can be bought for about 8 rubles at absolutely any pharmacy).
  9. Purified water (distilled or purified with a home water filter).

How to make a snow globe with your own hands.

Using scissors, cut the white tinsel very finely, cut as finely as possible, since even the smallest particles will visually appear large in water.

Paint the lid of the jar with a matching nail polish color. Also pay attention to the inner walls of the lid, since more often than not the product will be in an upside-down state, which means that possible unadorned places will be evident.

After the varnish on the lid has hardened, glue the selected figure to the inside of it. We used a figurine of the Moscow Kremlin, it’s just a pity that the inscription on it is in English, but apparently in Moscow such products are purchased more often by foreign tourists than by our compatriots, since literally all the souvenirs are full of English-language engravings.

You can place Kinder Surprise figures, small figurines or small children's toys inside your snow globe. We recommend stopping by the gift shop and purchasing a tiny plastic Christmas tree or snowman. If you don’t want to look around the city for a souvenir shop, visit any hypermarket; they usually have departments with similar trinkets.

Try to select small figures. Glass with water will act as a magnifying glass, so a large composition will appear bloated and dimensionless.

Now we proceed to the next more interesting step, pour glycerin into the jar, look at the photo below to see how much we poured into a small container. The speed of rotation of snowflakes will depend on the amount of glycerin; the more of it, the slower they will spin. Many people are interested in the question: is it possible to make a snow globe without glycerin just using water? The answer is no, without glycerin the snowflakes will immediately fall to the bottom of the container, while with it they can swirl around the composition inside the jar for quite a long time.

We also pour purified water into the jar with glycerin to the top. It is important that the water is crystal clear, which is why we recommend using either distilled water or simply purified in a home filter.

Well, here we come to the very interesting moment. Pour half a teaspoon of previously chopped white tinsel or prepared artificial snow into the jar. Mix it with a teaspoon and see how our snowflakes “come to life”. Do not add a lot of snow, otherwise the composition itself will not be visible behind the snowfall.

Add 1/3 teaspoon of white and silver glitter here. Mix everything thoroughly. Here I would like to say that the point with sparkles can, in principle, be completely skipped; snow alone will be quite enough.

We close the jar with a lid on which the figure is attached. Scroll the lid with special care so that the liquid does not start leaking out. Ideally, the lid should be treated with a layer of glue with inside, and only then tighten it.

Finally, the neck of the jar can be decorated with rhinestones, tied with a ribbon with a bow, or made from polymer clay spectacular stand. We decided to leave our snow globe with the lid and neck open; we didn’t want to burden the composition unnecessary details.

Before you pick up your snow globe, wipe it with a napkin to remove any marks left during the creation process. Now shake our snow globe and admire the snowfall, as well as the playful shimmer of white and silver glitter.

Young children will especially appreciate this. And you will spend many unforgettable and wonderful minutes in the company of your child. Good luck! Happy New Year!

DIY New Year's snow globe from a jar

You can very easily make a New Year's snow globe with your own hands from scrap materials. This is one of the most popular Christmas souvenirs all over the world. To decorate a souvenir, you can make some kind of figurine, for example, like here, a snowman. You can sculpt from any modeling mass, except salted dough, which dissolves in water

For work we will need:

glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, boiled or distilled water, glycerin solution; waterproof glue (two-component transparent waterproof epoxy glue, florist clay, aquarium sealant, glue gun in the form of silicone sticks), snow substitute (artificial snow, body glitter, crushed foam, broken eggshell, coconut flakes, white beads); various figurines made from chocolate eggs, homemade toys from polymer clay, various little things- to decorate a souvenir, you can use anything except salt dough, which dissolves in water.

The inner surface of the jar must be washed and dried. Glue the prepared figures to the inside of the lid. If we need to use any metal parts, we must first coat them with colorless nail polish - otherwise they risk corroding and ruining the craft.

Now we pour boiled water mixed with glycerin in a 1:1 ratio into the jar, but you can add more antifreeze - then the snow inside the dome will be very slow and “lazy”. Pour “snowflakes” from the selected material into this liquid, and if they fall too quickly, add more glycerin. After snow testing is completed, we are left with last step: screw the lid tightly, treat the joint with glue. When the craft is dry, you can turn it upside down and admire the result!

Hi all! And again we will create! Today my little one and I are faced with the task of making a snow globe with our own hands. And you know, we are already rubbing our palms with pleasure in anticipation of a miracle! And we will do this Miracle ourselves! I invite you all to be witnesses and accomplices. Let's create everything together!

What will we talk about in the article? First, I will voice some details regarding necessary tools and material. Then the subtleties of making the ball. And at the end I have prepared a master class for you. The program is extensive and designed with the help of toddlers in mind! It seems that everything is so serious that there is nothing to trust them with. But I think that you and I will find something that the kids can do too! Here we go?!

When you hold this ball in your hands, it seems that the only thing needed to make it is magic. They shook it a little, and suddenly everything crumbled into a charming snowy day. A real mystery! And really, this riddle can be done at home? Yes! Can! And it is necessary!

For this we need:

  • Jar
  • Water - 5 parts
  • Glycerin - 1 part
  • "Snow"
  • History in the plot

Will any jar work? Will any material become snow? And which story to choose? Let's answer these questions!

Jar. We need everything in the bank to be clearly visible. Therefore, plastic or a jar with any design, pattern, sticker or edges will not work.

Water. Of course, without water everything will be much easier. But our goal is for the snow to swirl and fall slowly. Therefore, water is needed. Can’t do without her! But how can we prevent the snow from floating on the surface and settling slowly? This is why it is worth making a solution from glycerin.

Glycerol. There should be a lot of it, then the snowflakes will swirl. Ideally, the proportions of glycerin and water should be 1 to 5. Without glycerin, you can make a ball, but the snowflakes will quickly fall to the bottom. From quantity glycerin The speed of rotation of the snowflakes will depend; the more there is, the slower they will spin. Many people are interested in the question Can whether do snow ball without glycerin just on the water? We answer, no, without glycerin snowflakes will immediately fall to the bottom.

"Snow". What's suitable? Glitter, cut pieces of thin plastic or foil, artificial snow.

History in the plot. This is something worth thinking about. Firstly, what should the plot be about? It's best if it's themed. After all, the ball can be made for any occasion as a gift. You can take plants as decorations, figurines as heroes, etc. The ball with a photo inside looks original. But the photo should first be laminated or covered with tape.

You can even give it as a gift - a keychain with flying snow.

Tricks to help you make a cool snow globe

Now I will continue the topic I started. I’ll just show you how you can make a “ball” in different versions.

First of all, who said that you need pot-bellied jars? They can be of any shape and size. The main condition is that in order for the toy to look beautiful inside the jar, the container must be either slightly convex, and/or must be 2-3 cm higher than the figure.

Our New Year's story assumes that there will be snow. I offered several options to choose from. But this is basically already finished products. How to make artificial snow with your own hands at home? Yes, you can cut, as I already said, plastic. But you can also grate a candle or hard soap on a fine grater. Only in one case or another the water will become cloudy very soon. There are 2 more options for making snow yourself: eggshells, which were dried and then crushed; or diaper filler. It should be taken out and moistened a little. And it is indistinguishable from natural snow.

And I will immediately answer a question that may have arisen in your mind. Is it possible to make a ball without glycerin? Easily! It is replaced with very sweet syrup or Vaseline oil. Some people take refined vegetable oil instead of glycerin. Take note of this idea too.

And one more nuance. For complete sealing, you need silicone tape or thin rubber; you can use a medical glove cut into strips.

Without glue, the structure will fall apart! Find glue that is not afraid of water. And it is desirable that it hardens quickly.

Last thing. The lid itself does not look presentable or elegant. It should be “disguised”. How? Ribbon, bow, paper strip.

Let's prepare a New Year's craft together

Since the holidays are approaching, my baby and I decided to make a snow globe for the New Year. At first we wanted to buy figurines of holiday heroes. But we went through everything we have and found everything we needed. Therefore, they did not postpone the creative process while there was time and the right mood.

A set of materials and tools for making crafts:

  • Jar with screw cap;
  • A figurine of a frog-Santa Claus with a red hat and on skis;
  • Sprigs of Christmas tree and juniper;
  • Rain;
  • Glue "Moment";
  • Silicone tape;
  • Scissors;
  • Water;
  • Glycerol;
  • Ribbon;
  • Cork;
  • Styrofoam;
  • Foil balls.

First of all, we make neat holes in the cork of a 5-liter water bottle, and insert plant decor into the holes.

Afterwards, when we fill the entire lid with glue, the structure will become completely stable. But even now it’s worth trying to keep the holes small and the plants to fit deeply into them.

Fill the lid with glue and install the “Santa Claus” figurine, lay out “drifts” of foil balls. And in the spaces between them we glue pieces of foam plastic.

The structure is ready. We fix it on the lid of the jar. Apply glue along the bottom of the lid. And when we put it in place, we additionally fix it with drops of glue on all sides.

Cover the side of the lid with tape.

Let's prepare the water. First fill it halfway, then add glycerin. If necessary, add more water, but remember that our structure will take up some space.

It is not always possible to completely remove air from the jar. And there is no particular need to do so.

We cut the rain into “snow” and lightly crumble the foam. This last one - my little one really liked it. I liked it so much that without him noticing, I had to catch part of his “work” and remove it from the jar, otherwise everything would have been covered in snow up to the very beginning.

Before connecting the lid and the jar, we will take care of complete sealing. Cover the thread with silicone tape.

All! Final stage– screw on the lid and turn the jar over! And we really like him!

The snow is spinning

And it settles.

Our glass New Year's snow globe is ready! The baby and I are happy! Still would! Your own snow! We want to make a snowstorm, we want to just admire how bright and beautiful everything is!
