On Friday, August 25, on the channel "Russia 1" will show a special edition of the program "Andrey Malakhov. Live". In it, the editor-in-chief of the StarHit project will interview Boris Korchevnikov, who recently headed the Spas channel. The announcement of the first broadcast with the new presenter caused heated discussions on the Web, which fueled intriguing videos. Many viewers were looking forward to the resolution of the main television intrigue of this summer.

At one time, Andrey Malakhov went from an intern translating CNN news to the host of one of the highest rated shows on Russian TV. StarHit remembered the first broadcasts of programs with the participation of a TV journalist, each of which was remembered by his fans for a long time.

"Good morning"

Andrey Malakhov's debut on television was the "Style" section of the ORT morning broadcast. A young man who recently graduated from Moscow State University told the audience about the latest fashion trends. Few people know, but the appointment, which any student journalist can envy, was preceded by active work behind the scenes - the future presenter, who was distinguished by good knowledge of English language, translated news from American sources. Sleepless nights were not in vain - editor-in-chief Larisa Zenina appreciated the efforts of a temporary employee, and soon he began to appear on the air.

“And when during the holidays it was necessary to put someone to replace the host“ Good morning”, I was offered to sit in a studio chair. Most of my new colleagues turned out to be real professionals and taught me a lot, ”recalled Andrey Malakhov.

His godmother on TV, the presenter called Elena Mironova, the host of the morning broadcast. It was she who once discovered the talent of a novice journalist. The woman believed that there could be no trifles in working on television, so she gave her young colleague fashion glasses, which her sister Alla, who worked in a large specialized chain of stores, helped her pick up. Years later, Andrei Malakhov continued to keep this thing, which became a reminder for him of the beginning of his career. To the great regret of her relatives and friends, Elena Mironova passed away after a long and serious illness.

“Lena was not just bright, smart and independent, she was stunning! She felt the breed and high class. Knowing by heart almost all of Tsvetaeva and idolizing Akhmatova, she did not miss a single significant concert, theater premiere or vernissage. She was aware of all the news, being for the guests of the Good Morning program, where she worked for many years, the most desirable interlocutor, ”wrote Andrey Malakhov in his column for StarHit.

"Big Wash"

The idea of the Big Wash program, which made a kind of revolution in the genre of talk shows, belonged to Andrei Malakhov and the host of the morning broadcast, Larisa Krivtsova. At first, the TV journalist wanted to bring to life the idea of a conversation between two people against the backdrop of a working washing machine, and make the studio itself in the form of a laundry room. However, later the authors of the program slightly changed the concept.

“One hour is the automatic mode of operation of the washing machine. Now, instead of the usual soap operas, housewives, having started washing their laundry, will watch an hour-long talk show. Each program has one central theme,” the announcement of the program said.

The first episode of The Big Wash aired on July 23, 2001. Andrey Malakhov led the program in a light suit, and Ilona Bronevitskaya was among the invited guests. She told viewers about her bad experience of working with make-up artists. The audience reacted to the star's words with laughter and applause.

“They took off my glasses. So, a yellow crimped dress, they also combed my hair like that. Now I know that make-up artists can not be trusted, but, in general, then I gave myself up. Here's what came out of it. And then everyone said: “Oh, how it is Edita Stanislavovna, so she gave birth to a daughter older than herself,” said the artist.

Per short time the program, which was not afraid to touch on high-profile topics and experiment, fell in love with the audience. In the TV show studio, liars were exposed, psychics were invited, and even hypnosis sessions were arranged. Andrey Malakhov did not stop experimenting with the manner of broadcasting and periodically tried on extravagant and fashionable costumes. At the same time, the presenter said that his style was important for attracting a young audience, and he himself would hardly spend a thousand dollars on a torn jacket.

"Five Evenings"

In September 2004, The Big Wash was renamed Five Evenings, and the topics of the program became more serious. Andrey Malakhov and his guests began to discuss issues of public importance - pensions, the cost of living, social and political problems. At the same time, the program sometimes touched on high-profile news, for example, another scandal at the Bolshoi Theater or the premiere of Zemfira's new album.

"Good evening! On the air "Five Evenings" with Andrey Malakhov. Thank you for doing it on Channel One. We discuss daily problems in the light of evening lights,” the host said before the start of the program.

The design of the studio, which was called a transformer on Channel One, also contributed to the fact that the program began to look more respectable. “Non-standard TV show techniques, synthesis of the genres of talk shows, variety art, elite circus,” the TV show announcement said.

"Let them talk"

"Five Evenings" did not air for long. In 2005, Channel One decided to reformat the evening show with Andrey Malakhov again and focused on more scandalous and gloomy topics. The first episode of the program aired on August 30. He was dedicated to the "Ural Demi Moore" - the provincial teacher Elena Krylova, who was fired because of a part-time job in a variety show.

"FROM today in this studio, let those who have something to say speak, and let those who cannot remain silent speak. This summer, they talked a lot about a simple provincial teacher from the Ural town of Sukhoi Log. During the day she worked and taught Russian language and literature, and in the evening she danced a striptease in a variety show. (...) The theme of the first broadcast “Let them talk” is “Russian Striptease”, we will discuss the loudest erotic scandals of the summer,” Malakhov announced.

The second issue of the program was devoted to how Russians apply to the European Court of Human Rights. Among the heroes of the program were Vladimir Golovlev, who dreamed of walking on the street without clothes, Natalya Znamenskaya, who could not bury her child under the name of her own father, and the scandalous writer Kirill Vorobyov.

“Let some people say that they have the right to do what they want. But what if a person wants to go naked, well, if not naked, then half-naked. And what to do if our desires do not coincide with the principles of public morality. The theme of the release today is “I have the right,” Andrey Malakhov announced before the start of a heated discussion in the transfer studio.

In 2015, “Let them talk” celebrated its anniversary - ten years since the first broadcast went on the air. The program, which continues to air on Channel One with the new presenter Dmitry Borisov, is considered one of the highest rated projects on TV.

"Tonight"

The premiere of a new entertainment show with Andrey Malakhov took place on September 1, 2012. “The program comes out exactly on Saturday evening, when you don’t want to think about something serious and important, and the desire to spend the evening calmly in the company of interesting and famous people outstrips all others,” the program announcement reads.

In the first issue of Tonight, Andrey Malakhov greeted the audience and lamented that the summer had flown by unnoticed.

“I want to return these leaving warm days. Let's try to do this. All last week I was asked: “What mood will be in your new program? I want to start our today's broadcast with a flash mob. (...) So, I watched a fantastic flash mob from St. Petersburg "White Nights" on the Internet. I hope it conveys the atmosphere that we want to create in our program - an atmosphere of unification, community, when absolutely strangers can unite, even if a short time", - Malakhov addressed the audience.

After a welcoming speech, the presenter offered to watch the footage from the cultural capital, made in the summer, and start dancing right in the studio. The atmosphere that prevailed on the set was fun and relaxed. Many celebrities, including Iosif Kobzon, Timur Kizyakov, graduates of the Star Factory, Philip Kirkorov, Alla Pugacheva, Stas Mikhailov, Vera Brezhneva and Vera Glagoleva, told their stories and shared memories in this setting.

The heroine of the premiere release of the program was the star of the 90s Larisa Chernikova. The artist, who lives in the USA, left the stage a long time ago. She is now a successful farmer and naturopathic doctor. On the air of the program, the performer first saw her father, who left the family when she was not even a year old, and also met her half-sister. In addition, Chernikova introduced suddenly found close people to American relatives.

"Big Wash", "Five Evenings", "Let them talk" ... 10 years have passed. What has changed in the minds of people during this time? What happened to the characters after the broadcast? And how could the program help them?

Channel One presents a special project dedicated to Andrey Malakhov's talk show!

    1. Andrei Malakhov

host of the programs "Big wash", "Five evenings", "Let them talk"

- These are your methods, your behavior - where did it come from?

The year I studied in America influenced me the most. Television is good because you can, let's say, practice while lying on the couch. The main thing is to watch a lot. You find the hosts that you like, and then you need to carefully study literally everything: facial expressions, gestures, behavior, appearance, read their interviews, follow what is happening in their lives. Ten years ago, American television was extremely promising. It seemed that we could not grow up to them. But when we are doing Eurovision now, it is clear that this is a level to which we can only strive further.

- They often say about you that you are chasing ratings. This is true?

Yes. If a journalist can find harmony with himself, then it is not about money. It's in the feeling of ranking, in the numbers you see the next morning. It really is comparable to an orgasm. There is nothing better than the feeling that the audience has chosen you. Everyone can persuade themselves that above 20 percent is good, but we ourselves are happy when the share is 30 percent. And you have to understand that 44 is already the President's New Year's address.

- That is the share more important than the essence programs?

No, the share is a reflection of what the country wants to hear. The country recognizes itself in the heroes. Moreover, 30 percent are not always on the VIP-history. It can be some simple family drama - but you understand that you have touched on the people sitting at the TV that they may not be able to articulate for themselves. You showed them who they are.

Do you have any barriers? Immersion in dirty laundry - is it necessary or are you internally convinced that it is necessary?

I'm not convinced of anything. When some people say they don't watch federal channels... It's clear that you can refuse to watch Fashion Sentence. This is chewing gum for housewives, although it has its own inner message - spring is in the yard, go dye your hair, cut your hair, change your life. But if you don't watch us, if you think that this doesn't happen, either you drive a Mercedes with a flashing light, or you don't know the country you live in. Everything we show is Russia of the 21st century. Of course, we want Skolkovo, we want to be the first on Mars, but the reality is that 30% of the country's population does not have toilets in their apartments.

- You are now quoting Putin, by the way.

I'm just speaking as someone who has just returned from Murmansk (although there was a toilet where I lived). Pity is not the best best feeling, but I internally feel sorry for the people who live like this. I remember myself at the age of 15: I wanted to leave Apatity for the city of Murmansk, because it seemed to me that this was the most beautiful city on Earth. When I moved from Murmansk to Moscow, I thought that Moscow was the height of civilization. Right now we are sitting in Turandot - you can probably say that this is the height of civilization, look for such a restaurant in New York. But when you find yourself in the South Butovo district, in the Shashlychnaya cafe or in some Non-Stop cafe, you understand that the reality is always a little different.

- As for reality: did you use actors in the show?

The concept of The Big Wash for the first one and a half seasons was based on the fact that we had real stories. But when they could not call someone on the air, actors were added to the real participants. And it was a play. Then we abandoned it - the newspapers, seeing the ratings, began to investigate and write that everything in our country was not real, other channels began to clone and exaggerate this concept; It became clear that she needed to leave.

- How do you define yourself - as a showman or as a journalist?

I graduated from the faculty of journalism and I can say that our locomotive takes so long to travel only because I have a journalistic education. I believe that the problem with our television now is that there are few good editors. The new people who come, maybe they are talented, good actors, but some thoughts, words, knowledge, some kind of journalistic reaction should be invested in them. But it's still television, you understand. If I worked for a newspaper, maybe I would go unshaven. And so I understand that everyone is looking at how I am dressed, cut my hair, what I eat. Like it or not, acting appears.

- What stories are most in demand? Is there a model - what exactly will the audience watch?

- (Pause.) Do we have censorship here or not?

- You don't know, we don't.

Then we remove the program from the shelf, where Mark Rudinshtein tells the whole truth about the Kinotavr festival and also says that he has cancer, he can die, and he needs to ask for forgiveness ... The share is 30 percent. Or if “Tea for Two” announces that they are gay, then in general 45. Or I suggest, for example, Tatyana Dogileva, who meets with Mikhalkov, discusses the construction of a house in the center of Moscow. One of the male politicians before the elections says that he did plastic surgery. Such things. Here is another story, if it is wrapped up correctly, - the wife of Badri Patrakatsishvili talks about what she found out after his death that he had a second family claiming the inheritance. The more millions that share, the more viewers, of course.

You recently gave an interview on TV Center and very boldly admitted that the authorities know who should be visiting, and you, they say, are repairing the stove.

Agree, if I decided everything myself, I would already be the CEO. I am responsible for my clearing - I fertilize, plow it, plant it. Everyone should cultivate their own garden - a wonderful idea, in my opinion.

- And when did you agree that the authorities know best? When did you accept the rules of the game?

On the very first day when he left for television. It seems to me that anyone who does not accept the rules of the game on television at all does not work there anymore. Or went to the TV channel "Rain". I saw Tanya Arno yesterday. “Congratulate me,” he says. I answer: "With what?" I know that there was a president on the Dozhd channel, but how many people saw him? Five and a half? I exaggerate, of course. But when Tatyana hosted the "Rally" program, it was an event. The question is, who are you running the program for? For myself? Like, am I that cool? “People, look, you can’t live like this”?

- You have no policy in the program. Was it your conscious decision?

There are too many politicians on TV anyway. We have politics between the lines. Again, I look at the numbers. Here is Posner's program, please share - 10. I never even thought, honestly, which of the politicians I would like to see on the program. Maybe Lena Skrynnik (Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. - Ed.) with her young husband, and even that is not about agriculture.

- And the president?

Only at home with them, with a tour. Here is Ilyusha, here is the nursery, here is what they wrote to me on Twitter, here is what is in the refrigerator.

- What will happen to you in 20 years?

After 20? Well… (Long pause.) In 20 years, I'm commenting on the end of the world live.

Interview: Natalia Rostova

The main theme of television August is the departure from Channel One. While the media are trying to figure out why the TV presenter decided to leave his native Channel One, whether he will go to competitors on Russia 1, and if not, what will he do and who will replace him in Let Them Talk. I decided to tell what Malakhov actually did with television, for which he is respected even by those who fiercely hate all his programs.

***
Andrey Malakhov loves to tell one story about a teapot. In the early 1990s, he was sent for an internship in the United States among the best students of the journalism course. He lived in America for a year and a half and did an internship at the prestigious University of Michigan. He later admits that it was there that he realized how rich and expressive television can be.

Returning to his homeland, he found that, while a whole new world flashed before his eyes, absolutely nothing had changed on Russian TV. Only in the native edition a new teapot appeared. Apparently, it was then that he felt that something definitely needed to be changed.

The Western masters of television made a great impression on the young Malakhov. In Russia, the talk show genre was only in its infancy, while in America it has been developing for decades. And therefore, having honed his skills in the Good Morning program on ORT, the young presenter tried to put what he saw in the USA into practice. His colleague on the morning broadcast, Larisa Krivtsova, noted that Malakhov gushed with ideas on how to diversify the broadcasts with the help of interactives: he collected gifts for children, rescued stray dogs and urged viewers to wash windows en masse. At the same time, he always behaved intelligently and benevolently in the frame.

They didn’t let Malakhov go further than Good Morning on the channel. Then Krivtsova, fed up with working in the frame and became interested in directing, suggested that the journalist come up with a show personally “for him”. The novice presenter did not particularly believe in this idea, but he remembered how, during an internship in the USA, he was impressed by a show with a conversation between two people against the backdrop of a working washing machine. Krivtsova and Malakhov corrected the concept, adding mass character to it. This is how the Big Wash was born - a talk show about everyday problems that are not customary to make public.

"Big Wash"

Here, without too much delicacy, the whole studio discussed intimate life, family problems, love affairs of husbands and details of the personal life of stars. They also understood the psychology of lies, led the heroes to clean water, invited psychics, arranged hypnosis sessions and dance concerts.

The project made a small revolution in the genre. Compared to other non-political talk shows of the early 2000s, The Big Wash looked like an unbalanced, at times freaky, half-naked girl dancing a cancan. Against this background, the main competitor of the "Big Wash" - the program "My Family" with - seemed like a boring family gathering. The stories that were shared in My Family under masks and changing their voice were discussed openly, loudly and by the whole world with Malakhov.

Some call "The Big Wash" a tracing-paper from the American show Jerry Springer, which comes out in the style of trash. However, Springer's "Stirke" was far from the level of trash. (However, this gap was soon filled by the staged talk show "Windows" with Dmitry Nagiyev, which is closest to the American original - approx. "Tapes.ru"). However, TV critics of the program seemed terribly low-brow. They wrote that Channel One was exploiting the audience's interest in dirty laundry, Malakhov was called a "vulgar presenter", and the judgments of studio guests were miserable.

But this did not stop Malakhov himself. Krivtsova, who acted as the producer of the program, recalled that at first he received a penny, but he worked with wild energy. For several years, he managed to sort out a lot of styles and manners of conducting. For example, in the early years he tried to be restrained, and even while watching a hypnosis session in the studio, he behaved seriously and sympathetically.

At the same time, at first, Malakhov, under the guns of television cameras, kept stumbling over words, could not find expressions, and seemed to be able to read only from a piece of paper. For a professional presenter, this is tantamount to failure, but the public quickly fell in love with the direct and able to seem sincere Malakhov. He liberated himself and got used to it no less quickly, and his confused speech, replete with frequent “uh-uh”, turned into a meme, like the phrase “Good afternoon! Good afternoon! Good afternoon! Your favorite talk show "The Big Wash" and its various variations are on the air.

Failure of "Five Evenings"

The last issue of The Big Wash was released in July 2004. According to Malakhov, the program was closed because of its frivolity, and not at all because of low ratings. Moreover, he sincerely believes that in this way he was tested for the subtlety of his mental organization. On Channel One, they explained that the program had become obsolete, and the presenter himself became cramped within the format.

Inside the program, it was rumored that the claims were not addressed to Malakhov, but to the producer of Laundry, Larisa Krivtsova. Since 2004, the talk show with Malakhov was given into the hands of the director of the Channel One Special Projects Studio, which was designed to reformat the program.

Nikonova went on an experiment: they added respectability to the program and made it thematic, and not tied to specific events. The program was called "Five Evenings", and its advertising slogan read "Malakhov became more serious." He now discussed pensions, the low cost of living, crime in Russia, and other social and political issues, including US elections. “Trash television has never been close to Channel One. Decent figures in an indecent way are not our way, ”Nikonova explained in an interview a few years later.

Frame: Channel One video

However, the new format "didn't work" - the ratings of the project were steadily falling. They tried to find a better time on the air for him, but in vain. In addition, the creators failed the main thing - to maintain the announced seriousness. In the program were looking for recipes eternal youth, then discussed virginity of the star "House-2". After not holding out for a year, Five Evenings closed. Nikonova believes that the reason for the failure was the rejection of the event approach.

“It was a thematic talk show, which by that time had lost its relevance. Now no topic can be a reason for discussion on television - the viewer is only interested in events. Events in the life of the country, in the lives of people, - the producer explained. - And the next program with Andrey Malakhov "Let them talk" became the ancestor of a new genre - the genre of history." This was indicated by the slogan: "Non-fictional stories about which it is impossible to remain silent."

The heyday of "Let them talk"

“Let them talk” turned out to be the most tenacious television project with Malakhov. It has existed for 12 years and is one of the highest rated on the channel.

There is no less trash in it, if not more, than in Laundry. The average hero of the program is a resident of the outback, who suffered from cruelty or injustice, who came to the program with his own story in search of truth and protection. The studio analyzes, for example, why the wife deceived her husband, who is the father of the child, they talk about rape in the family and bullying in orphanages. All this is generously seasoned with scandals and fights. Separate collections with the best battles of "Let them talk" are easy to find on YouTube.

The gloomy style of the program is diluted with festive releases dedicated to the Olympics, an analysis of the results of Eurovision or broadcasts about viral videos on the Internet.

The favorite topic “Let them talk” is the scandalous details of the life of celebrities: drug addiction, intimate life, Marat Basharov's beating of his own wife and other non-fictional stories that are really hard to keep silent about.

However, the “yellow” tint of programs with the participation of Malakhov does not seem to affect the reputation of the presenter. Malakhov is a successful showman, editor-in-chief of a publication about the life of stars, recently the face of a brand of glasses and always welcome guest social events. He has repeatedly noted that he is not the ideologist of "Let them talk", because he is only an employee who receives a salary. And this is true - although Malakhov looks like the master of his programs, he is framed as an employee of the Special Projects Studio of Channel One and has repeatedly emphasized that it is not he who approves the topics, but the producers, who, moreover, do not always respond enthusiastically to his proposals.

To questions from critics about whether it is not disgusting for him to be involved in projects that exploit other people's tears and pain, Malakhov usually objects that “Let them talk” is a mirror of Russian reality and that is why it is so popular with the audience. In an interview with GQ, he even compared "Let them talk" with creativity. “Theoretically, these are some kind of Chekhov stories about Russian life today, only with the ability to connect viewers and admirers of the program to help those whose stories we tell,” the TV presenter believes.

End of an era

According to media reports, after 16 years of working on first-channel talk shows, the host decided to change jobs. According to versions, Malakhov thought to part with the TV channel after Nikonova returned to work on the show, who at one time restarted the Big Wash. For the past few years, she has worked on, in particular, on the show "Live" - a direct competitor to "Let them talk."

According to the sensational version of Elle magazine, the departure of the Channel One star is completely connected with the fact that the management refused to let him go on maternity leave. Officially, the “transfer” has not yet been announced, but on August 7, the media reported that the TV presenter, who was on vacation, had nevertheless applied for dismissal.

On the same day, another news appeared, which some considered symbolic. Malakhov posted on Twitter a photo of the questionnaire when checking into a hotel, in which he identified himself as a blogger.

The fact is that quite recently, the TV presenter really got his own video blog on YouTube, which soon gained wide popularity. The TV star releases videos about the heroes of her programs, in particular about Diana Shurygina and Alexei Panin, posts videos from planning meetings on StarHit and learns to interact with the Internet audience.

At the end of June, he announced the imminent launch of new headings, in particular the program "Aftor Zhzhot" with an overview of funny videos. Programs with the same name were periodically released as part of "Let them talk." Considering fast growth channel (in less than three months he scored over 6.5 million views), Malakhov has every chance to be realized as a video blogger, regardless of producers and TV channels.

Malakhov's colleagues in the workshop say that he has long outgrown the television format and is ripe for a more global independent undertaking.
