Phuket beaches. Photo, description, reviews

The largest island in Thailand and, not surprisingly, there is a huge selection of holiday destinations. But what if you are a beginner? Which beach to choose in Phuket? You can, of course, read about each beach, study photos - there is now a huge amount of information on the Internet. And, anyway, you are unlikely to fully get the answer to the question.

In this article we will tell you in detail about the best beaches in Phuket for different categories of people, you can choose for yourself perfect place and enjoy your holiday to the fullest. By the way, don't forget.

Express selection by site method

The cleanest sea

The beaches are leading here, where all the “benefits” of civilization have not yet reached in the form of numerous hotels, bars and restaurants, etc. Accordingly, there are much fewer tourists here, which means that the sea is clean, without bags and cellophanes from chips, chocolates and other human waste. These places are located in the northwest of the island, in National Park Sirinath (Sirinath), which includes,.

For snorkeling

Snorkeling is snorkeling among fish and coral reefs. In the immediate vicinity of the coast of Phuket, you will not see any bright corals and amazing marine life, you should go to neighboring islands or take one of these in one of the many travel agencies in Phuket.

Although if you just want to swim among the fish, then go to the beaches of Yanui and. There, right by the shore, flocks of fish “hang out” among the stones. For the first acquaintance with "seafood" this will be enough.

For secluded relaxation

Here, the undisputed leadership of the northwestern beaches, especially: Nai Yang, Mai Khao and Saikeo. The infrastructure on them is poorly developed, the nightlife with bars and discos is completely absent. And since there are few hotels, there are few people there. You can generally find areas where you will not meet anyone within a radius of 200-300 meters, especially in the low season from May to October-November.

Hi friends! The new season will start soon in Phuket. We have compiled a complete collection for you: all the beaches of Phuket.

We will describe the main beaches of Phuket from north to south along the west coast of the island, and tell you about a few beaches located in the south and southeast of the island, which are worth paying attention to.

We visited almost all the beaches of the island and chose. But some beautiful beaches are difficult to get to, and somewhere there is an entrance fee. There are hotel private beaches, which are allowed only for hotel guests, we will briefly mention such beaches, because they are famous and people are trying to get there, but there is no point in this. So Phuket beaches!

*** To get around all the beaches in Phuket, you will need a good car. To rent a car in Phuket via the Internet, click on any car below.

Phuket beaches. Complete collection.

Many beaches in Phuket are quite similar to each other. If you are without a car, I don’t see much point in hunting for all the beaches, because some can only be reached by your own transport or taxi (sontego). We take, which allows us to easily conquer any distance. On sontego and buses (Phuket public transport) it is not always convenient to get to distant beaches, and public transport does not go to some beaches.

And also the tastes of all people are different, someone loves solitude and nature, and the other crowd and movement. Someone likes to discover new and hard-to-reach, while the other loves the already familiar and comfortable. Therefore, look at the photos, read the description and choose the beaches to your taste.

We invite you to walk along the beaches of Phuket with us! 🙂

1. Mai Khao Beach

Mai Khao is a beach in the north of Phuket. This is the longest beach, its length is about ten kilometers. Mai Khao Beach is adjacent to the airport. It is he who is (or rather its southernmost part) the very photo beach, where people come to take pictures with a landing plane.

This is a beautiful, deserted beach, where you need to swim very carefully. Due to the large ocean waves and reverse currents, this beach is on the list of very dangerous for swimming. There are several five-star hotels on the beach. Near the airport is the largest water park in Phuket - Splash Jungle Water Park. There are several trips to the beach, depending on the purpose of the visit.

2. Nai Yang Beach

Nai Yang is located in the northwest of Phuket. Nai Yang smoothly flows from Mai Khao beach, the border between them is ephemeral, rather the airport separates them. Nai Yang is a small village with Nai Yang Beach and a park dedicated to Queen Sirikit.

The beach near the park is wonderful, we fell in love with it. Huge trees provide natural shade, while the lagoon and reef create a great sea without waves. Groups of parents and children always come here. We recommend! 🙂 From here, landing and taking off planes are also perfectly observed. You can walk to the beach area of the airport.

3. Naithon Beach

Nai Thon Beach is nestled between Nai Yang Beach and Bangtao. Naithon Beach is one kilometer long and is surrounded by the park and conservation area of the island. Knighton, in its own way, is hidden from the entire surrounding civilization. The infrastructure is not very developed in the village, the nearest supermarket is in Bangtao.

  • Google coordinates: 8.057709, 98.277673

4. Banana beach

Nice, pleasant beach, from the category of secret, but known to everyone. 🙂 You need to go down the mountain to the beach (easy descent - 5 minutes). The beach is located between Naithon and Bang Tao, parking is small. It is not worth coming specially from the south, but if you live nearby, we recommend it.

5. Layan Beach

Layan Beach is the beginning of Bang Tao Beach, it is a single coastline, a single lagoon, with different names. Layan Beach is often called Bang Tao. Local Thais love to relax on Layan, arranging picnics in the shade of trees on the shore.

6. Bang Tao beach

Bang Tao or six kilometers of tranquility in Phuket, as we called this beach in our article. Bangtao Beach can be divided into southern, central and northern. The southern and central part is the most popular among tourists. The significant northern part of Bangtao is occupied by the Laguna Hotel, a whole complex of expensive Laguna hotels and 18 golf courses. This part of the beach is sometimes called Laguna Beach.

The wavy season is not as pronounced on Bangtao as on the southern beaches of Karon, Kata, Naiharn. Here, already in November, a calm is established, which allows you to fully swim in the sea. There are almost no low tides on the beach, they are only in the northern part of the beach, near the cape (this is Layan beach). The beach is full of natural shade in the form of casuarinas on the shore. In Bang Tao on the beach you can find sun loungers and cafes, as well as several hotel areas.

7. Pansea Beach)

Pansy Hotel Beach is located between Surin and Bang Tao, it is located literally behind a small cape on the north side of Surin Beach. There are two hotels here - The Surin and Amanpuri. You don’t need to come specially, this is a private beach, and in order to swim here, it is advisable to stay in the above hotels 🙂

  • Google coordinates: 7.981052, 98.277667

8. Surin beach

The beach is one kilometer long with a wide coastal strip. Surin Beach is considered to be the elite beach of Phuket. In the high season, many tourists rest here. Surin Beach is quite wavy, in the low season of big waves (from April to November) you can go surfing here.

The beach is lined with palm trees and casuarinas, creating a natural shade. The sand is soft, light, pleasant. The water is transparent. Due to the light sand, in sunny weather, the water acquires a beautiful azure hue.

Laem Sing Beach is located between Surin and Kamala, on a pass not far from the lookout. Entrance to the beach is paid, the descent is simple.

  • Google coordinates: 7.968773, 98.280004

10. Kamala Beach

An elegant lagoon and a graceful shore lined with palm trees. What pleases Kamala is the opportunity to live within walking distance from the sea, several hotels and bungalows are located right on the coast of Kamala. The width of the beach depends on the ebb and flow, but in general the beach is not too wide. natural shade there is on Kamala beach, in the heat everyone moves under the trees.

11. Hotel Nakolay beach and strange Kalim beach.

We recorded them together, we wanted to skip them altogether. But, not surprisingly, we were asked a question about Kalim Beach and whether it is worth going to it. So you need to write about these beaches so that there are no questions. So, between Kamala and Patong there is a private Nakolai beach and a public Kalim beach. Nakolay Beach is a private beach of the Absolute Nakalay Beach Resort, only hotel guests can get there. Therefore, there is no need to go there specially, there is nothing special there.

Now about Kalim beach. Friends, this place can be called a beach with a certain amount of irony. The beach is close to the road, there is often a high tide when the coast disappears completely. In the evenings, food bowls are put up here. It's more like a technical beach for fishermen.

In some sources, this beach is described as active. Let's be honest, even those who live in hotels near Kalim go on foot to Patong. We drove past this beach dozens of times, and only once did we take a photo, the rest of the time it’s either low tide and stones, or high tide and no beach.

12. Patong beach.

Patong Beach is the most popular beach in Phuket. This is a whole city where hundreds of hotels and guest houses are located. A thousand massage parlors, bars, restaurants, clothing and cosmetics shops. In Patong you can find everything you can imagine! It gathers an international and mixed-age audience. And European youth, who came for parties, and wise gray-haired grandparents.

In the center of Patong there is a kind of "noise zone", a cluster of bars and nightclubs, as well as budget hotels. No wonder Patong is called “Mini Pattaya”. Toward the north there are very quiet places in Patong where you can stay. We tested in Patong.

Patong Beach is 3 kilometers long, and despite this, during the season it is crowded with people. The sand on the beach is light beige, soft, loose. In the evenings, there are low tides, when the water goes hundreds of meters into the ocean, forming children's puddles on the shore.

13. Tri Trang beach.

Tri Trang Beach is located in the southwest of Phuket and covers a distance of about 730 meters. The Tri Trang Beach Hotel is located on the beach and most of the tourists on the beach are guests of this hotel (80% Russian-speaking). The beach is pleasant, but the whole situation is somewhat reminiscent of a sanatorium in Sochi. Russian is spoken all around, everyone is lying on the same hotel towels, the DJ is playing music.

The beach is bathable, the waves are rare, more often there is an ebb and water is knee-deep. The sand is light, so in sunny weather it can be beautiful here. On Tri Trang beach, an elephant is often bathed and photographed with him. Near the beach there is an advertisement where to call if you want to swim with an elephant and a baby elephant. Tritrang chip. 🙂

A few kilometers from Tri Trang is Paradise Beach, and a short distance (on foot uphill) Freedom Beach.

  • Google coordinates: 7.886211, 98.273464

14. Paradise beach

Paid beach, they take you down the mountain by tuk-tuk. The beach is beautiful and well decorated, lots of areas to visit. Despite the fact that the beach is paid, we like it. On the "paradise" beach, the natural landscape was preserved, although for some reason they installed sunbeds, somehow they had already lost the habit of their visual manifestation, because on all Phuket beaches they long time were banned. Paradise is a private area, there are sunbeds and umbrellas, but it's still very beautiful.

15. Freedom beach

Another hard-to-reach, but also paid beach. Either the most daring people get here, because first they go uphill for a long time and then down the ropes. Or the most cunning get here, they rent a boat and swim. But all efforts are worth it! The beach is adorable! It has white sand and azure water. Not so many people, it creates a pleasant feeling from here the most magical fairy tale. True, the thought that you will again have to climb back on foot darkens your mind a little 🙂

16. Karon Noi Beach or Le Meridian Beach Resort Beach.

Despite the fact that Karon Noi Beach (or little Karon) is known to everyone and is located between the popular beaches of Patong and Karon, this is a hotel beach and is allowed there every other time. And in the high season, when there are a lot of guests at the Le Meridian Beach hotel, people from outside are not allowed at all. Therefore, we will show this beach just for statistics, we do not recommend going there at all. The beach is beautiful, located in a cozy lagoon.

  • Google coordinates: 7.866348, 98.283246

17. Karon beach

Karon Beach is one of the longest beaches in Phuket. Its length is about four kilometers. Karon Beach is located on the west coast of Phuket, 45 km from the international airport and 20 km from Phuket Town. In length, Karon Beach stretched itself for four long kilometers. This allows tourists who do not like extras to spread out along the entire coastline to avoid the feeling of crowding.

From December to March-April, the sea on Karon calms down, but waves are possible. From May to November, there are huge waves on Karon Beach, it is unlikely that you will be able to swim. There are lifeguards, everywhere there are flags where entry into the sea is recommended (Swim here) or red flags where entry into the water is prohibited, there may be reverse currents.

The sand is pleasant, yellowish-brown, soft. Kids love it, suitable for building castles. It is believed that Karon is the most squeaky beach in Phuket due to the high content of quartz in the sand. Russian speech is heard everywhere, most restaurants have a Russian menu (with funny names “sweet and sour shrimp, spicy” - this is tom yum soup) and the names of shops have long been translated into Russian.

18. Katha beach

Kata is a beach in the southwest of the island, about one and a half kilometers long, the width of the beach depends on the tide. Kata Beach can be divided into three parts: southern, central and northern. Further south, across the cape, is the beautiful white beach of Kata Noi (or little Kata).

There are not just a lot of tourists on Kata Beach, but a lot! 🙂 And even in the "off season" when it's still raining in Phuket, Kata beach is the most crowded and active beach. The sand on Kata Beach is light, almost white. It is pleasant to the touch, soft and quite small. Due to the light color of the sand, in sunny weather, the ocean on Katya looks very picturesque, sky blue, just like a fairy tale.

Google coordinates: 7.816180, 98.299181

  • More about the beach:

19. Kata Noi beach

The small beach, 600 meters long, is a popular spot for surfers during the rainy season from May to October and a honeymoon beach during the dry season from December to March. The beach is clean and flanked by capes at both ends. Kata Noi beach is just over one kilometer long. The width of the beach depends on the season and the tides, it can be from 30 to 5 meters.

But when the sunny season comes, and on Kata Noi it is somewhere from December, the beach comes to life and becomes just a piece of paradise in Phuket. White sand, blue water, two hills with palm trees on the sides of the beach. Fabulously beautiful. 🙂 But there can be waves, it all depends on inland waters, ocean currents. We most often came to Kata Noi Beach, and noted that this beach has the most magical low tides, creating natural fonts for children (and adults love them), where you can swim and splash the little one.

  • More about the beach:

20. Nui beach

The most inaccessible and secret beach on the Island, one and a half kilometers to go to it along a completely broken road with a large height difference. This is the private territory (they say that private beaches are prohibited, but only in theory) of some Thai nouveau riche. Once upon a time there was a paid entrance to Nui, maybe this aspect will be resumed, but so far the beach looks wild and abandoned. Nui Beach is amazingly beautiful, picturesque, a little pirate, with an abandoned hotel on the shore, which gives it charm.

We will write a separate article about this beach, one road to it is already part of the romantic quest “get to Nui beach”. But in general, we are satisfied with the result of these one and a half kilometers along the potholes, and even visited here a couple more times. A beach for extreme people and those who like to climb somewhere impassable (instead of a relaxing holiday). Around Nui there are secret paths to secret viewing platforms.

21. Yanui beach

The beach is easily accessible, located between Promthep Cape and a hill with windmills. This is pleasant. Nice, a little homey lagoon. On the one hand, on the other, the windmills are spinning. And in the center of the beach there is also a rocky island. Also, the landscape is decorated with snow-white yachts on the horizon. All this makes the picture picturesque and a little "wonderful" (remember Alice from Wonderland?)

On the south side of the beach there is a rocky bottom, from here many snorkelers live there, as soon as the season comes and big waves end? And on the other half of the beach there is a sandy bottom and you can swim there. The beach is tiny (about 150 meters long). There are too many people here in the high season, and for such a tiny beach, this can be written as a minus. But in the off-season it's good here, although the other side of the coin is big waves.

  • Google coordinates: 7.767507, 98.306630

22. Nai Harn beach

Naiharn Beach is located almost in the very south of Phuket and is a cozy lagoon sandwiched between two large hills: Promthep Cape from the south and Kata Cape from the north side. Near the beach there is a casuarina park, NaiHarn Monastery and a lake. Naiharn is located far from the noisy highway, only a small-town, half-empty road passes nearby, so the beach is well hidden from noise. Naiharn is one of the favorite beaches for tourists living in the Rawai area.

Naiharn Beach is only half a kilometer long, but it does not seem small, it is saved by the sufficient width of the beach, which is not very dependent on the tides. On the south side of the beach there is a small shallow lake where kids love to splash around. This is where most parents and children gather, this is a kind of Naiharn children's zone.

23. Ao Sane beach

To find Ao San Beach, you need to stop by the only hotel on Naiharn Beach and drive until the end of the road. There you will see the cutest beach with a scattering of stones and a restaurant on the shore. From Ao San, if you climb on the rocks, you can contemplate Naiharn in all its glory. And we like Ao San itself for its atmosphere and natural landscape. But, as in the case of Yanuy, too many people come here during the season.

24. Beach at the Lighthouse.

The secret beach of Phuket, which is located in the south of the island, under a high slope. Very unusual and beautiful place. You can descend here from Promthep Cape. Approximately in the middle of the way to the southernmost end of the cape there is a barely noticeable path to the right, along it you can go down to the sea and see a small beach. This occupation is unsafe and requires physical training.

  • Google coordinates: 7.760459, 98.305004

25. Cross beaches of Cape Promthep.

Between Promthep Cape and Rawai Beach, we found two more beaches, whether they are private or not, we could not find out. But the beaches are completely deserted and completely picturesque.

  • Google coordinates: 7.760970, 98.315671 and 7.759046, 98.312490

26. Rawai beach

Rawai Beach is a technical beach with boats and motorboats, from here you can sail to Koh Racha and Coral Island. There is also a fish market and many fish restaurants. The Rawai area is located in the very south of the island and covers two beaches - Rawai and Naiharn. At high tide, you can splash between the boats. Sometimes a rawai beach with long tail boats looks fabulous.

Rawai is loved by Phuket winterers and expats. The European imprint lies on cafes and restaurants, where, in addition to Thai cuisine, there are quite a few pizzerias, hamburgers, and saunas. Lots of housing long term, and expensive villas, and simple Thai houses.

  • Google coordinates: 7.798931, 98.336946

28. Laem Ka beach

Small but nice beach. A lot of natural shade in the form of palm trees, picturesque rocky placers. Well, the entrance to the beach itself passes through a palm grove - beautiful. It is located on the territory of a military base and from the northern part there is a territory closed to the passage.

30. Cape Panwa (Cap Panwa)

Cape Panwa is a pleasant place on the island, with beautiful viewing platforms, sparsely populated beaches, waterfalls, an aquarium and even a real promenade. There are several beaches on Cape Panwa, the most popular is Ao Yon beach.

»»» »»» »»» Brief description of the best beaches in Phuket

The beaches of Phuket island, Thailand

All the beaches of Phuket are located on the western side of the island facing the open sea.

The length of the most popular beaches in Phuket is significant, and is calculated in many kilometers.

Small secluded beaches for Phuket are also not uncommon, and there are nearly two dozen such beaches on the island.

The sand on the beaches of Phuket is yellowish, the ideally white coral sand, which is so famous for and, is a rarity for the beaches of Phuket.

The best beaches in Phuket. What beaches are worth visiting in Phuket.

What is the best beach in Phuket? There have always been many different answers to this question, and opinions on this subject have changed greatly over the course of long history development of tourism on the island.

In the distant 80s of the last century, when the tourism industry in Phuket was just taking its first steps, it was considered the best beach on the island. And they were considered quite deserved.

The sand on Patong Beach is fine and white, the beach itself is wide and long, the sea near the beach is quiet and calm, and the beach is located in a vast and surprisingly beautiful bay.

As a result, the joy of tourists who had the good fortune to visit Patong in the 80s and 90s of the last century knew no bounds, however, at the turn of the millennium, the intensity of positive emotions greatly diminished.

The tourist village, located opposite Patong Beach, has grown to the size of a real city, with skyscrapers, traffic jams, and monstrous crowds of people. And already in the early 2000s, the positioning of Patong as the best beach on the island began to be considered bad manners.

And since the first place is never free, the vacant title of the best beach in Phuket was divided between two beaches located on the periphery of the island, and. Compared to Patong Beach, both of these beaches are noticeably smaller, however, this is what tourists perceived as their plus.

The small bays in which these beaches are located have always been very beautiful, the views from the beaches to the nearby wooded hills were pleasing to the eye, and just as pleasing to the eye was the light turquoise color of the water in the sea opposite the beaches.

This is how the situation looked ten years ago, but a lot has changed since then.

The pretty bays that sheltered the beaches of Surin and Kata Noi were built up with hotels, shops and restaurants, and the beaches themselves were made up of dense rows of sunbeds. The number of vacationers on these beaches has also reached a critical size, and the title of the best beach on the island has again become vacant.

At the moment, the situation is as follows: with full right the best beaches Phuket can be called either located in the extreme southern part of the island, or located in the north. Main Feature of all the beaches just listed, allowing them to claim such a high title, is the fact that the number of vacationers on these beaches is only in the hundreds, and not in the many thousands, as on the more famous beaches of the island.

Concluding this topic, one cannot fail to say that all these lists of the best beaches are quite subjective, and you should go around all the beaches of the island yourself and decide for yourself which beach suits you best and which beach you like best.

List of the most interesting beaches in Phuket

Mai Khao beach

Mai Khao Beach, the largest beach in Phuket, is located in the north of the island, and has not yet been developed by the tourism industry. The length of Mai Khao Beach is 10 km, the distance from the nearest popular beach, Bang Tao Beach is 10 km, and the distance from Patong City is approximately 35 km.

Mai Khao Beach is almost completely devoid of buildings, is rarely visited by tourists, and is good in case you think that the main beaches of Phuket are overloaded with vacationers. The road to Mai Khao Beach is quite obvious, and you can get there by renting a vehicle, car or motorbike.

Nai Yang beach

Nai Yang Beach is located to the south of Mai Khao Beach, and in fact is its continuation. There are about 70 hotels, resorts, and villas for rent in the Bang Tao Beach area. Given the length of Bang Tao Beach, this is not so much. The Bang Tao beach itself, by the standards of Phuket, is not crowded, especially in its northern part. In this part of the beach, still poorly developed by the tourism industry, there are no hotels or rows of sunbeds, which, according to the tradition of Phuket, occupy the largest and best part of the beach.

Pansea beach

Pansea Beach is located north of Surin Beach and south of Bang Tao Beach. The length of Pansea Beach is 400 meters, the distance from the city of Patong is just over 13 kilometers.

The cost of living in the first of them, The Surin Hotel, starts from $400 per day; in the second, the Amanpuri hotel, the cheapest rooms cost $1,000 per day, while the cost of living in luxury villas reaches $10,000 per day.

Surin Beach

Surin Beach is located in the northern part of Phuket, close to two other popular beaches on the island, Kamala Beach and Bang Tao Beach. Surin Beach is more than 1 km long, the distance from Surin Beach to Patong is 12 km.

Near Surin Beach there are popular boutique resorts, in the national and modern style, there are beach clubs with DJs and live music, and in addition to this, the proximity to the Amanpuri Hotel, the most expensive hotel in Phuket, gives a special charm to Surin Beach. , including among international celebrities.

Laem Singh beach

Laem Singh Beach is located exactly halfway between Kamala and Surin beaches. The length of the beach is 300 meters, the distance from the city of Patong is just over 10 kilometers.

Laem Singh Beach is one of the most popular small beaches in Phuket and gets quite crowded during the high season.

Kamala beach

Kamala Beach is located in the central part of Phuket, north of Patong Beach and south of Surin Beach. The length of Kamala Beach exceeds 2 km, the distance from Kamala Beach to Patong is approximately 7 km, and the distance to Surin Beach is just over 2 km.

A feature of Kamala Beach, which distinguishes it from the rest of the beaches of Phuket, is surprisingly a large number of colorful and pleasing to the eye fishing boats that attract the attention of all, without exception, vacationers. Boats are here for a reason, because before the tourist boom, there was nothing in this place except.....

Patong beach

Patong Beach, Phuket's most famous beach, is located near Patong Town, at a distance of approximately 30 km. from international.

Patong Beach was once considered the best beach in Phuket. The sand on Patong Beach is fine and white, which is uncharacteristic for Phuket, the beach itself is wide and long, the sea near the beach is moderately shallow, and there is almost always no wave in the sea. However, at the moment, the beach of Patong city is overloaded beyond measure with vacationers, sunbeds along the entire length of the beach are set in 5 rows, and through each.....

Three Tra Beach

Tri Tra Beach (other names are Emerald Beach and Crystal Beach) is a small, pretty beach located in the same bay as the main beach of Patong. The length of Tri Tra Beach is approximately 500 meters, the beach is located south of the city beach of Patong, and both beaches are connected by a road with a length of about 1000 meters. Unlike the city beach of Patong, Tri Tra beach is not crowded, and has not yet been spoiled by the attention of vacationers. Since Tri Tra Beach is located very close to the main beach of Patong, theoretically, you can move between the beaches on foot. However, the roads of Phuket Island are not well suited for walking, and between these beaches, it is better, after all, to mix by transport.

Relax Beach

Relax Beach, sometimes called Karon Noi (small Karon Beach), is located just north of the main Karon Beach, and is separated from the latter by a rather steep pass. The length of Relax Beach is 300 meters, the distance from the city of Patong is just over 5 kilometers.

Relax Beach, like another fairly beautiful beach, Pansea Beach, is private and is available only to guests of Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort. As you might guess, this resort is not cheap, and the pleasure of living in it, and at the same time lying on a half-empty private beach, costs 300 - 500 dollars a day.

Karon beach

Karon Beach is located south of Patong and is the largest beach in the southern part of Phuket. The length of Karon Beach is almost 4 km., With the city of Patong, Karon Beach is connected by a 6 km long road, and with the neighboring Kata Yai Beach - a 1 km long road.

Karon Beach can be safely called the most cosmopolitan of all the beaches in Phuket. In the vicinity of Karon Beach there are many large chain resorts, such as Hilton Arcadia, which are international to such an extent that looking at them, it is impossible to understand whether they are built in Asia, Europe, or somewhere in America. And if.....

The beaches of Kata

Kata's two beaches (Kata Yai and Kata Noi) are located south of Karon Beach, about 12 kilometers from Patong City, and are among the most popular beaches in Phuket.

The beaches of Kata have one feature worth special mention. Kata beaches are among those few places in Phuket where you can settle for reasonable money. As a result, these beaches are loved by a young and active public, and everything on Kata beaches, including bars, restaurants and opportunities for active rest tailored to their tastes. From the number interesting places located near the beaches of Kata, the most.....

Nai Harn beach

Nai Harn Beach is located in the extreme southern part of Phuket and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The length of Nai Harn Beach is 700 meters, Nai Harn Beach is separated from Patong City by 22 km, and from the nearest large beach, Kata Noi Beach, Nai Harn Beach is separated by 10 km.

Nai Harn Beach is located away from the main tourist centers of Phuket and is poorly developed. There is only one hotel directly on the beach, the Royal Phuket Yacht Club, and another 5 or 6 hotels are within walking distance from the beach. However, this beach is well known and quite popular, and usually tourists on the beach.....

Yanui Beach

Ya Nui Beach is located south of Nai Harn Beach, and is separated from the latter by a fairly high hill. The length of Yanui Beach is a little less than two hundred meters, the distance between the beaches of Nai Harn and Yanui is 500 meters in a straight line, and about 3 km along the road going around the hill. The distance from Patong to Yanui Beach is about 25 km.

Yanui Beach, despite being far from the main tourist centers of Phuket, is very popular, and there are always a lot of vacationers on this beach.

Rawai beach

Rawai Beach (more rarely - Rawai Beach) is located in the extreme southern part of Phuket, at a distance of ~ 25 km. from Patong city. The length of Rawai Beach is about 2 km, the nearest popular beach, Nai Harn Beach, is located 3 km. from Rawai Beach, and another large beach, Kata Noi Beach, is at a distance of 10 km. from Rawai beach.

Rawai Beach has quite a lot of advantages, for which this beach is worth visiting, and perhaps even choosing as a place of settlement in Phuket. Firstly, from Rawai beach, breathtaking views beautiful views to the south of Phuket small and big islands. Secondly, on Rawai Beach is .....

Are you going to Phuket and tangled up in the beaches? Or is it not the first time you are relaxing on the island and want to try a new place? We will help you choose the best beach in Phuket.

What is the best beach in Phuket? As always, it is impossible to give a definite answer - everything is so subjective. After all, privacy is important to someone, and nightlife is important to someone. Therefore we will give brief description We will tell everyone who is the best fit.

All Phuket beaches on the map

Patong Beach

Patong has many faces: crazy party-goers, quiet introverts, families with children, and romantic couples rest here. How do they all get along? It's simple: everyone finds his own corner.

Most tourists in the reviews consider it the best beach in Phuket. Those who appreciate the comfort and accessibility of the benefits of civilization, and also love nightlife, come here. We ourselves lived there three times. If you want peace and tranquility, choose another resort or hotel away from the noisy center.

The infrastructure of the resort is very developed. There are many, there is a large shopping center "Jangceylon" with a Big C hypermarket, cafes, restaurants and macaroons at every step. Countless hotels, guesthouses and resorts.

Patong is quite clean - it is cleaned every day. Powdery white sand and turquoise calm water, a gentle entrance, there is a lot of shade on the shore. There are no secluded places, but you can go to where there are fewer people.

Karon Beach

Karon seemed like a mini-Patong to us: there are also a lot of people, developed infrastructure, there is some kind of nightlife. Rest mostly Russian, especially with children. Karon is the second most popular after Patong. Among the tourists there are many who consider it the best beach in Phuket. Suitable for everyone, except for lovers of solitude.

Karon is long and wide. There are very few shadows, you need to rent a sunbed and an umbrella. The sand is similar to Patong - fine and creaky - but not as light. The water is clear when there are no waves. The entrance to the sea is gentle, but the sea is deep. There are rip currents, so be careful. Supervise children while swimming.

Kata Beach

Kata is almost the same as Karon. They even merged in our memories. There are also many Russians, similar sand, an island in the sea. Only the hotel stretched along the coast, which is why there are only two exits to Kata Beach - in the north and south. There are almost no cafe-restaurants, respectively, on the shore. Suitable couples with children, because the entrance to the sea is gentle, and the depth increases gradually.

Kata Noi Beach

A very nice little beach, on the sides of which lie picturesque stones. We remember the heavenly water and peaceful atmosphere. Quiet, few people. Of the minuses - there is almost no shade, you have to rent an umbrella. We would call Kata Noi one of the best beaches in Phuket for a relaxing and romantic holiday, as well as families with children.

The infrastructure is almost not developed: there are few shops, cafes and hotels. But all this is in Katya - it's easy to get there. There are expensive and beautiful hotels on the coast.

Nai Harn Beach

We believe that this is one of the best beaches in Phuket for a relaxing, but not far from civilization holiday. It was chosen by Russians (as, indeed, almost all the beaches of the island) and families with children.

Small clean sand, gentle entrance, no waves. There are few shadows, but there are umbrellas. There is a minimum infrastructure: a toilet and a shower, restaurants, cafes and macaques. The nature is picturesque, beautiful views of the green hills. People come here from other places. Bike parking is big. Nearby - a lake with a temple and a shady park, windmills with an observation deck.

Ao Sane Beach

This is a tiny but extremely cute beach with boulders next to Nai Harn - you have to drive a little on a bike past the Naiharn On The Rock hotel. There is a restaurant where you can rent equipment for snorkeling and diving, and a hotel. There are sunbeds and umbrellas.

Ya Nui Beach

We really liked it here! Almost idyllic landscapes, few people. The shadow is thick, but not enough. Yanui attracted us with the purest water, in which colorful fish swim, a sandy isthmus and a rocky peninsula where you can climb - which we did. The best beach in Phuket for those who are tired of the frantic pace of life.

The only negative is that there are few areas in the sea where there are no stones. There are usually kids running around. At low tide, stones are exposed and fish swim in the creeks. Have coral slippers.

From the infrastructure - a couple of restaurants across the road, inland - hotels. There is a rental of kayaks and snorkeling equipment.

Solo travelers We advise you to look for hotels on the Roomguru.ru service. It will help you find the best low price. Don't know how to use it? Read tips.

Rawai and Chalong (Rawai and Chalong)

These are technical beaches, they do not swim. Very dirty and smelly. But here, cheap housing and food are what many long-steers use: they rent a house with a bike and go to other beaches.

Kamala Beach

Kamala Beach is conditionally divided into three parts. In the south, to the bridge, the road runs close to the sea. Tin is going on there: boats, a lot of garbage, the water is dirty and no one bathes. There are several restaurants.

All tourists are concentrated in the center and in the north, across the river: there are umbrellas and sunbeds, cafes, food vendors. There are many people. The sand is cleaned here, the water is also clean. There are breaking waves, but in general the sea is quite calm (but out of season, according to tourists, it is stormy and dangerous).

The resort is comfortable for rest and living: there is a calm beach, more or less developed infrastructure, and civilized Patong at hand. Suitable for almost all categories of vacationers.

Surin Beach

Nice beach with fine yellow sand and very clean water. Rocky capes along the edges form a cozy bay. There is little shade, but there are umbrellas. Calm and quiet. Suitable for everyone except nightlife lovers.

The sand is clean, but closer to the road it gets dirty. The "promenade" itself is terrible and shocked us: mud, puddles, garbage. The infrastructure is minimal, but there is everything you need: cheap food (food court across the road), toilet and shower, parking for bikes.

Bang Tao Beach

A giant beach in Phuket, the second longest after Mai Khao - it stretches for about 7 km. Ban Tao is suitable for a relaxing family holiday - it seemed to us one of the most deserted. A casuarina grove with palm trees grows almost along the entire coast, so there is a shadow, but it almost disappears in the afternoon.

In the south, developed infrastructure: sunbeds, water activities, cafes and shops. Lots of hotels, clubs, bars. The sand is clean, the water is calm, but with suspension. The center and north are much less populated and developed. The central region is the most beautiful, well-groomed and respectable: there is a lagoon formed by a network of lakes. There are many expensive hotels and resorts around the lagoon. The north is almost deserted, but there are villas.

I really didn't like the area next to the Green Leaf restaurant (outside the beach where the parking is) - such a dump! Pigs and chickens burrow in it. There is an unbearable stench.

The resort island of Phuket is the southern province of Thailand and is washed by the Andaman Sea. Entertainment of all directions is concentrated on its coast: restaurants, beach parties, shopping and more. Phuket gained its popularity due to the amazing beauty of the beaches and shallow white sand combined with the azure sea. together with hot and sunny weather annually attract thousands of tourists.

1. Kata

One of the best beaches in Phuket - Kata is located in a small bay of a semicircular shape and has a length of about 1.5 km. This place is perfect for a family holiday: soft sand, gentle slope into the sea and no big waves during the high season (from May to October it is already dangerous to swim).

The beach is quite remote from busy roads and not too rich in nightlife, while it has a lot of entertainment: children's slides, water scooters and "bananas", volleyball courts. On the shore you can find rental boats for sea trips: opposite the beach there is a small coral island, around which a lot of bright fish gather. There is a market on the north side of the beach, where vacationers will be offered to enjoy seafood dishes or eat fresh fruit.

2. Patong

Patong is the most famous and crowded beach in Phuket. An abundance of bars, sex industry services, entertainment parties and shops attracts active people of all ages.

Patong Beach with white coral sand and a beautiful coastal strip is always crowded: during the day, young people go diving or ride water skis and scooters, and at night there are sex parties or entertainment shows with transvestites. A promenade stretches along the shore with mini-diners that prepare inexpensive and hearty meals for vacationers.

The beach has all the amenities: sun loungers and umbrellas, banana and parachute rentals, and locals offer tourists memorable trinkets. The sea in these places is always calm, and the coastal zone is clean.

3. Karon

Karon Beach is famous for its length of several kilometers and fine, creaky yellowish sand. The beach line is so long that even at the height of the season you can find a place to relax on the shore. In the central part it can be crowded, so there is a rental of mats and umbrellas. And between the sunbathers, vendors scurry about with various trifles like glasses, mats or light snacks. To sunbathe in some seclusion, it is better to go to the edge of the beach.

The sea off the coast during the season is quite calm, but still large waves periodically run up. The water on Karon is so clear that you can easily see the underwater inhabitants and the bottom.

4. Nai Harn

Nai Harn Beach in Phuket can be considered an ideal place for a quiet family vacation with a picnic. The coast is closed from the city on all sides by southern palm trees and delights tourists with shady corners overlooking the sea. The sand here is fine and light, and the coast itself is flat, without hills and pits.

The beach has a relatively small length, but even at the height of the season there are not so many vacationers and there is enough space for everyone. There are mats and umbrellas on the beach. The entrance to the water is gentle, but it is better for children to swim under the supervision of adults: the open sea sometimes brings quite large waves.

Nai Harn is also famous for hosting the royal regatta at the height of the season. Many tourists come to this incredibly beautiful Phuket beach to watch sailing yacht competitions and enjoy the sea surrounded by shady palm groves.

5. Yanui Beach

Next on the list of "Best Beaches in Phuket" is Yanui. It will appeal to those who want to take a break from the bustle of the city and enjoy the sea views. Here you will not find macaroni or restaurants, attractions or souvenir shops. For visitors on the beach is open only small cafe and several kayak and scuba equipment rentals.

The seabed of Yanui Beach is strewn with stones: for swimming, you should take special shoes with you. There are practically no waves near the shore, so this place is ideal for snorkeling. There is a small island nearby and diving enthusiasts are advised to explore the bottom around it: in these places, sea fish are not at all afraid of people, and clear water allows you to see all the details.

Yanui Beach is surrounded by palm groves, and an asphalt road is laid from the highway. On the beach for vacationers, rental of mats and umbrellas is open.

6. Kata Noi

The cozy and small beach of Kata Noi is suitable for a relaxing holiday in Phuket with the family: even in the high season it is not so crowded. Tourists are attracted to this place with its stunning scenery and comfortable rest. The sand on the coast is very fine and crumbly, and the descent into the water is smooth.

The sea on Kata Noi is almost always calm, only sometimes there are several waves: swimming is safe for children with adults. The water temperature here is slightly lower than on the central beaches, but this is more of a plus than a minus.

Along the perimeter of Kata Noi beach, sunbeds and umbrellas are equipped, and just above the shore there is a small cafe with a breathtaking view of the sea. From entertainment you can find: water banana, scooters, parachuting.

7. Kamala

Kamala Beach is known for its ideal coastline: fine sand and smooth descent into the water. The infrastructure is well developed here, while there is always a lot of free space on the beach: a large length of the coastline is appreciated by tourists. Exotic coconut palms grow along the coast, under which you can hide from the sun.

For vacationers there are umbrellas and sunbeds, and along the road there are macaroons and small Thai cafes. On the shore there is a rental of jet skis, you can also ride a banana. For those who wish, there are several massage points.

The sea on this picturesque Phuket beach is always calm and the water is clear. The descent into the depths is even and smooth, and in some areas there are special entrances to the water. Moving away from the central part of the coast, you can stay in a wild area and enjoy the silence and the surrounding landscapes.

8. Surin

Surin Beach is located on the west coast of Phuket and is famous for its comfort and developed infrastructure. The beach is perfectly landscaped and there is entertainment for everyone here: shopping, water sports, a bar with live music and more. You can also find massage parlors and excursion points.

The beach is closed from the city by a pedestrian street and a strip of trees under which you can hide from the sun. There are umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach. In the high season, the sea is calm here, and the descent into the water is smooth: families with children love this place. For the summer, a temporary pier is installed in the water, from which you can dive. In the low season, big waves appear and surfboards are rented on the beach.

Surin Beach is covered with fine light-colored sand: you can sunbathe on the bedding. The sea near the coast is shallow, so swimming here is a pleasure. On the south side, there are also places with a rocky bottom: an excellent corner for observing bright sea fish.

9. Nai Thon

Nai Thon Beach belongs to the territory of the Sirinat Reserve, and is known for its seclusion: tourists come here for peace and quiet. Even in high season, it is one of the quietest places for a beach holiday in Phuket. Large casuarinas grow along the coast, and the beach itself is covered with fine golden sand. There is not a single cafe or restaurant along the coastline: all amenities are across the street.

In the high season, the sea on Nai Thon Beach is quiet, and the bottom is sandy and flat. This is a great place for scuba diving: underwater you can see reefs and marine life. In the low season, small waves appear, which is convenient for beginners to learn to surf.

Above the beach line there are small shops with snacks, souvenirs and refreshing drinks.

10. Banana

Banana Beach is short and known for its seclusion. It is surrounded by tropical thickets and rocky ledges, in some places covered with greenery. This is an ideal place in Phuket to relax from the bustle of the city: there is practically no infrastructure on the coast, and it is little known among tourists.

The sand by the sea is fine and light, but sometimes there are large stones. In the center, the beach is divided into two parts by a stone ridge, which can be bypassed by water. For vacationers, there is a rental of umbrellas with mattresses, as well as a small cafe on the north side of the coast. There you can also rent a small boat for boat trips near the shore.

Banana Beach is a cozy bay with exotic views of the sea and palm trees. It is here that all the beauty of the tropical nature of Thailand is revealed.
