The dining room is presented in the same masculine style: heavy, massive wooden table and the leather-covered chairs seem designed for gambling company. The tabletop and chair frame have a brushed texture, giving the wood a decorative effect.

The master bedroom is located on the first floor and is notable for the fact that, like the living room, it has a stone-clad fireplace, but with a glass firebox. Adjacent to the bedroom separate room rest and bathroom. Thus, a personal area of ​​the owner was created, remote from other premises, with a separate exit to the terrace running along the main facade.

The bedrooms located on the second floor create a warm, homely atmosphere. Each of them has a classic wooden furniture. To do this, they used a so-called wooden mesh with deliberately large square segments so that the elements of the decorative boxes were comparable to the massive walls made of logs.

The color of the house's exterior is given by a long terrace with a wrought-iron fence, installed on stone supports, and a staircase: the lower part of its steps is lined with stone, the upper part is made of logs. The hunting style of the exterior and interior is a very specific direction in design. Here is our old and dear clearing, where our first residential building stood. The place was already heavily overgrown with young shoots and we already had to cut down the overgrown clearing. About five years ago I had to carry out a total weeding here, getting rid of thin, stunted birch trees that had grown as tall as me and had taken up everything free place in the meadow.

Started on July 25, 2009. In two days they cleared the place and laid the frame - the first crown, the basis of the entire future construction

We prepared logs for several future crowns, sawed them to size, and sanded them. Before leaving, they put in another half-wed.

There were days when it rained from morning until evening - sometimes drizzling, and sometimes downpour. Then we threw more wood into the fire so that we could come up and warm ourselves from time to time, put on chemical protective raincoats and continued working.

When it rained, our labor productivity dropped significantly. Raincoats did not provide much protection from the omnipresent moisture. The logs were slippery and resembled large bars of soap. It happened that in a day they only made half a crop. Well, the mood matched the weather - gloomy. But construction continued nonetheless. The floor has already been laid. Slowly but surely the crowns grew one by one. And now the outlines of the future hut are already visible (Max and I, in our language, called this “the contours are being drawn”). In something like this context: “Well, some contours are already being drawn!”

Started nearby roofing. We design and assemble the roof of our future home. It is much easier and more convenient to prepare a structure on the ground than on site; we invent the structure as construction progresses.

On next photo the so-called trait. This is our second most important tool after the chainsaw. We did it ourselves (or rather, Max did it). I have never seen anything like this in stores; it is needed for marking logs for making longitudinal grooves.

The very name of the tool already states its purpose. Logs are drawn with a line. After all, logs do not have an ideal shape, despite the apparent roundness and regularity of the shape, they have bumps, bulges, and unevenness from sawed knots. A line drawn along two logs marks all the irregularities and bends, and if you cut a groove along correctly drawn logs, they will fit tightly on top of each other, leaving no gaps.

The log to be drawn must be placed in the place where it will subsequently be located, and fixed so that it does not play, does not swing, and God forbid, does not fall. The more accurately the logs are drawn, the less work there will be later in adjusting them to each other. Therefore, there is no need to rush here. It happens, of course, that even a carefully drawn log does not want to lie in its place and you can spend half a day adjusting it. And it happens the other way around - I marked it hastily, but it lay down as if it had been there all the time. After the log is marked, you need to remove it, turn it over with our marks facing up, and select a groove with a chainsaw. First, we saw along, making three to five longitudinal cuts (depending on the thickness of the log).

Then we cut across, here the number of cuts is unlimited. The more often the transverse cuts are made, the easier it will be to select a groove later.

Select a groove with an axe, first you need to use a butt to knock out all the “cubes” that you sawed. And then clean and correct, trim the groove. (To my great regret, the photo of the log with the selected groove was not preserved). Then we turn the log over and place it on the log house on which the log was drawn, not forgetting to first put moss on the bottom log, preferably wet.

Now I’ll make a short lyrical digression, which I’ll dedicate to the boards. Boards... Oh, this is probably the hardest part of the construction. There is no road to the winter quarters. They took us on a timber truck to an abandoned quarry. And then about 2 km - on yourself. There were 65 boards in total. Of these, 17 are forties and 48 inches. The boards are 3rd grade, damp and heavy. They wore it like this: first 1 forty + 1 inch (17 walkers). Then they moved all the inches, three boards at a time (10 moves). They wore it for three days, and they also took a little bit of the fourth.

Well, the frame has finally been raised. The ceiling is laid, the rafters are exposed. The contours are being drawn more and more clearly.

It's time to cut window hole. By the way, the frame with glass was found in an abandoned quarry. So the opening was adjusted to the size of the found frame.

The boards have been sewn on, and roofing felt needs to be laid on this side of the roof as well. I stand and think how it would be more convenient to do this. I tell Yulka: “I’ll probably have to put together a ladder, it won’t work without it.” In general, while I was thinking, I noticed how my wife had already climbed onto the roof and was shouting at me from there to bring the roofing material. “For us,” he says, “it will take half a day to build the stairs, but you can lay roofing felt anyway.

In general, I did not expect such construction talents in her. Yes, she did it all so cleverly. She pounded, nailed, and I was in the wings, like in that saying - bring it, give it, fuck off, don’t interfere! (joke).

We apply the final polish and eliminate minor defects. In one place the roofing felt was torn when they were unwinding it. Most likely, in the store where we bought it, it was stored lying down. I had to fill the hole. To do this, he set fire to a piece of roofing felt and dripped it with hot tar.

But the most solemn moment is the first lighting of the stove. That's it - the winter hut came to life, began to breathe. Now there is one more taiga hut. The mystery has happened...

The winter quarters have been built. And I finish my story. Let me summarize. Built from July 25, 2009 to August 23, 2009. Almost a month, intermittently. In general, the stand took a full 14 days. It could have been built faster, but the rains greatly interfered, reducing the pace of work to nothing.

In addition, 4 days out of 14 we carried boards and other materials. 10 liters of 92 gasoline and 10 liters of chain oil were consumed. The following building materials were required: 3rd grade "inch" board - 48 pieces, 3rd grade "magpie" board - 17 pieces, roofing felt - 2 rolls, "isover" insulation - 1 roll, and all sorts of small things - nails of different "calibers" , door handles, hooks, staples, and tools - axes, cleavers, nail pullers, etc.
