Lenovo a606 front camera. Review of Lenovo A328, A536, A606: on the same wavelength

The Lenovo A606 phone is a large, wide and heavy 5-inch all-in-one made of plastic. The design can be called classic for Lenovo smartphone, in our opinion, nothing remarkable and eye-catching: a solid-colored rectangle with rounded edges and the Lenovo logo with a thin border along the edges of the front panel. Below the display are three non-illuminated buttons. The control buttons are in their usual place - on the top of the right side. The back panel is removable and made of soft-touch material that resembles rubber: when we removed the cover, we saw how it easily bends and folds around the edges. Actually plastic cover"dressed" in a cover like a rubber. During the tests, we see this for the first time.

Using the Lenovo A606 with one hand is inconvenient, after all, 5 inches. Device dimensions - 141.5 × 75.6 × 10.6 mm, weight - 172 grams. Even Lenovo P780 with its huge battery was a little thinner and weighed almost the same. The display quickly "collects" fingerprints, but you can easily wipe them off, but the back with a slightly protruding lens remains clean all the time. If we talk about build quality, then it is on good level— Nothing backlash and does not bend. By the way, in a case, the phone hardly slips out of your hands and is easily fixed; without it, the phone may accidentally fall out due to the slippery back. Let's also say that at first the smartphone may seem non-separable, but in fact you can easily remove the cover, under which there is a removable battery. Lenovo A606 can be purchased in black and white.

Screen - 3.4

Diagonal display Lenovo A606 - 5 inches. Such a diagonal will be enough for comfortable reading and watching videos, but using the phone with one hand is hard. Matrix type - IPS, screen resolution - 854 × 480 pixels (PPI - 196 pixels per inch, for five inches this resolution looks, in our opinion, very meager - the image is fuzzy and blurry). The smartphone does not have an oleophobic coating and protective glass, so the display “collects” fingerprints, but they can be wiped off. Also, the device has an auto-brightness function, we checked its work - in general, not bad, but not as fast as we would like. But the touchscreen works quickly, but recognizes only up to two touches.

The screen has an average brightness level - up to 348 cd / m2, average viewing angles and low contrast. The minimum adjustable brightness is 13 cd / m2, which will be convenient for reading at night. On a sunny day, the information on the screen remains readable. There is no provision for wearing gloves. In our opinion, the display is not the Lenovo A606's strongest point: it has a fuzzy image and low contrast.

Camera

The Lenovo A606 smartphone uses an 8 MP camera with LED flash, face detection and autofocus. The flash, by the way, can act as a flashlight. The maximum photo resolution is 3264 by 2448 pixels. The capabilities of the camera are not so great, but they are quite consistent with the price of the smartphone and the declared pixels. There are also front-camera, with a good resolution of 2 MP, which is not too small for an additional camera. The main camera shoots video at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, however, with a frame rate of only 15 frames per second, but the sound is recorded in stereo mode and there is a tracking autofocus function. The cameras are far from flagship, but they can easily replace a soap dish and correspond in quality to the declared megapixels.

Working with text - 1.0

The Lenovo A606 uses a standard keyboard from Google. The function of continuous text input is available, a separate button for switching languages, there is no markup of additional characters, only the top row of keys allows you to type numbers by pressing a key. At the same time, the keyboard has a dot and a comma at once, in some cases, keyboards in the Russian layout do not have a comma on the screen.

Internet - 3.0

As browsers on Lenovo A606 preinstalled Google Chrome with support for synchronizing tabs with the desktop version of the browser and Yandex.Browser with the address bar at the bottom of the display. There is no support for multiple page scaling and a separate reading mode. But you can manually set the font size for a single scaling. After double-clicking on the page, all text will scale to the size you choose, which is very convenient, according to user reviews. Yandex.Browser has a "Turbo" mode for faster page loading, the ability to close tabs automatically when you exit the browser, etc.

Interfaces

Lenovo A606 supports the most common wireless interfaces: Wi-Fi (b/g/n) with the ability to distribute the Internet to other devices, Bluetooth v4.0 with support for the A2DP profile for music transfer and A-GPS. All of them functioned normally during our tests. The smartphone has one slot for a mini-SIM card, and there is also a micro-USB 2.0 connector on the top of the phone. However main feature smartphone - support for LTE.

Multimedia - 4.2

The Lenovo A606 video player supports many common formats and codecs and plays video in high quality, up to 1080p. There is no choice of subtitles and audio track in the built-in video player. The audio player plays popular formats such as MP3 and AAC, as well as "high quality" formats such as FLAC and WAV.

Battery - 3.0

The device is equipped with a removable battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh. Lenovo A606 showed excellent results for a state employee in tests for a while battery life. The smartphone played HD video at maximum brightness for 6 hours. In our test, listening to music with the screen turned off, the device ran out of battery in 67 hours. Charges Lenovo A606 relatively quickly - it took us about two hours to fully charge the smartphone.

Performance - 2.0

The Lenovo A606 uses a budget, but quite productive MediaTek MT6582 platform with 4 cores in the processor and a frequency of 1.3 GHz, the graphics subsystem is Mali-400 MP. Volume random access memory- 1 GB. The performance of the smartphone according to the results of the tests is normal, it will be enough for most tasks, including many games. It should be noted that during web browsing it “froze” a little, and in games, for example, Asphalt 8, it slowed down at medium settings, but at low everything went quite smoothly. As for benchmarks, here lenovo phone The A606 received an average score of 19314 on AnTuTu, but a modest 2861 on 3DMark's Ice Storm Unlimited test.

Memory - 5.0

The total amount of built-in memory in the Lenovo A606 is 8 GB, of which only 4.75 GB is available to the user. There is a slot for a memory card, cards up to 32 GB are supported. There is no hot-swappable memory card.

Peculiarities

The smartphone is running a proprietary shell from Lenovo, which, in our opinion, looks rustic. The manufacturer has changed appearance all basic programs, now there is no separate screen with a list of applications, only a common desktop. Among the features, it should be noted support for LTE (perhaps the only interesting thing in this smartphone), the presence of a cover and a lot of pre-installed software.

Each manufacturer of Android smartphones, in addition to well-known flagship models, also has an indispensable line of inexpensive devices that are frequently updated. Not everyone will remember combinations of regularly changing indices, but these inconspicuous models are in stable demand and sell well. We offer you to look at three devices from Lenovo at once - A328, A536 and A606. Everyone has three devices- identical processor and RAM, battery capacity is the same, although other characteristics differ, albeit not very much.

Appearance

The smartphone is presented in black color. The glossy plastic case is quickly covered with prints, which is a traditional problem for all models made of this material. With the assembly, the test sample had flaws. The removable back panel did not fit very tightly on the sides, because of which, when squeezed in the hand, squeaks were heard between the parts.

Above the screen is a silver speaker grille, to the left of it - the front camera and proximity sensor.

Below are three touch control buttons: "Functions", "Home" and "Back", without backlight, but with a clearly visible silver marking. The microphone hole is on the bottom end, the micro-USB connector and 3.5 mm audio output are on the top.

On the right side The buttons for adjusting the sound and locking the screen are taken out.

The camera lens is combined with a black overlay located under it, complemented by a silver frame.

There is a small notch in the bottom corner that will help you remove the cover and access the two SIM card slots, the microSD slot and the battery.

This candy bar is comparable in size to the Lenovo A606, which has the same screen size, but is slightly longer. Gloss is preferred here, so it's not surprising that the back panel quickly turns into a collection of prints.

The panel on the right side of the test sample creaked a little, but it was a pre-production sample, there should not be a creak in the final version. In any case, the plastic part fits snugly on all other sides, and there are no unpleasant sounds. The case was decorated with a silvery decorative edging encircling the front of the device.

Above the screen is the front camera, proximity sensor, speaker and logo.

Below are the basic buttons: "Functions", "Home" and "Back", devoid of backlighting, but with clear symbols. On the right side are the screen lock and volume keys.

The microphone is moved down, and at the top, a micro-USB cable and headphones are connected to a standard 3.5 mm jack.

Moderately wide monoblock entirely made of black plastic. The surface of the removable back panel has a soft-touch texture, which is pleasant to feel in the palm of your hand. The assembly is excellent, the removable cover is very tightly and securely fixed, which eliminates any possibility of backlash. Appearance without any attention-grabbing artistic ideas. Lenovo A606 can be called a classic solution, a typical example of a monoblock with rounded corners. The only noticeable detail in the realm of black is the silver edging along the case, which also plays the role of a protective side when the smartphone is lying face down on the table.

Above the screen, completely covered with glass, a large Lenovo logo is inscribed, a conversational speaker and a front camera are placed above it. Light and proximity sensors are not forgotten.

Three touch control buttons are placed down: "Functions", "Home" and "Back", devoid of backlighting. On the right side are the volume rocker and the power button.

The microphone is on the bottom end, on the top there is a micro-USB and an audio jack.

A camera lens adorned with a silver ring bulges out in the center at the back. Below it is an LED flash, and on the left is a speaker.

Removing the panel reveals a normal size SIM and microSD slot. They are both locked with a battery that needs to be removed before any card can be installed.

Ergonomics

A smartphone with rounded sides that are comfortable for the palm is convenient to take in hand, although due to the abundance of gloss, there is a chance of accidentally dropping it. One-hand operation is possible, fortunately, the size of the device is not very large.

In order for the back panel to leave its place, there is a small recess in the corner, which is easy to catch with a fingernail and pull the cover up.

A large angular monoblock with a glossy panel is not the most comfortable option for the average user's palm. Glossy plastic tends to slip away to freedom. Therefore, taking the device with one hand, you should hold it firmly so that it does not inadvertently meet the floor. At the same time, it is difficult to control the fingers of one hand, yet the device is too big for such activities.

A small hole, designed to make the rear panel easier to remove, is also prudently provided here.

Five inches has become a kind of standard for a modern smartphone, so many are already accustomed to such dimensions. The device is quite heavy, but it lies well in the palm of your hand, even though it is somewhat problematic to control it with one hand. Due to the practical coating, the smartphone is securely fixed in the hand, and there is no fear that it will accidentally fall.

There is no separate recess for access to the insides, but it is easy to pry off the cover with a fingernail and remove it by hooking on the sides.

The mechanical buttons in all three smartphones are in convenient location, they are convex, it is convenient to press them, blind control goes without problems.

The smartphone has a diagonal of 4.5 inches, a resolution of 480x854 pixels. For a budget solution, the display is not bad, it can be forgiven for the vertical distortion of the picture, typical for TN matrices. The maximum brightness margin is enough to see the data on the screen under the sun. The sensor detects up to two touches, the sensitivity is good, there is no oleophobic coating here. There is also no light sensor, so you have to manually adjust the brightness.

A five-inch diagonal is combined with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. This is not much, but for a budget device it is not so critical.

The matrix is of acceptable quality, the viewing angles of the TN-screen are distorted vertically, but everything is in order horizontally. However, turning the smartphone in your hand, it is easy to notice how the image fades. Putting all three devices side by side, it is easy to see that the shades of this model go into cold bluish tones, the A328 has a yellowish display, and the A606 has distinct warm notes. Pink colour. There is no oleophobic coating here, the brightness is also adjusted only manually.

The display with a five-inch diagonal has good sensitivity. It is made using IPS technology, so it has good angles review. The display is not very contrasty, when you turn the phone in your hand the picture dims slightly. Resolution by modern standards is low for such a diagonal, it is 480x854 pixels, so the font looks blurry, and the image lacks clarity.

At maximum screen brightness under the sun, the data remains readable. The minimum level will be comfortable for reading in the dark. The sensor detects up to two simultaneous touches. The screen does not have an oleophobic coating, the surface is easy to get dirty, but cleaning it is not particularly difficult. This model, the only one of the three, has a light sensor, and with it - and automatic brightness control. And the screen itself turned out to be the brightest of the whole trinity.

Interface

Smartphones run Android 4.4.2 and are complemented by a proprietary shell from Lenovo. There is no second menu where application icons would be presented, everything is added to one screen, where it is sorted into folders, which can always be supplemented with a variety of widgets. There are themes, it is easy to change the number of desktops, wallpapers, animation options while scrolling through the menu.

By default, communication functions are moved down, if desired, these four icons change to others. At the top there is access to the curtain with notifications and shortcuts.

Installed several branded applications. Security monitors data security by working as an antivirus. SYNCit allows you to synchronize various data, including messages and contacts. There is a convenient file browser with a visual division of data by different types, Facebook, Twitter and Skype clients are installed, AccuWeather displays the latest weather information. There is a set of games from Gameloft: Real Football 2014, Green Farm 3, Asphalt 8. A set of applications from Yandex is also built in: search, browser, maps, disk, app store, metro and taxi.

Devices in operation

All three smartphones have an identical MTK6582M chip with a frequency of 1.3 GHz and Mali-400 MP graphics. Smartphones do not freeze, but there are small slowdowns that generally do not affect operation and are forgivable given the price. The amount of RAM is 1 GB. The A328 has the least built-in memory, it has 4 GB, and the other two have 8 GB each. MicroSD slots with support for volumes up to 32 GB are available on all devices.

In tests, the performance figures are very similar.

In Ice Storm Unlimites, the A328 scores 2864, the A536 scores 2863 and the A606 scores 2880.

The filling is of an average level, but the devices are also inexpensive, so this option looks attractive. The animation is smooth, it is noticeable both in the menu, and in browsers, and while watching a video. Minor twitches are unlikely to overshadow the life of the smartphone owner, so the whole trinity deserves a positive assessment.

Of the games, the popular Asphalt 8, Dead Trigger 2, Minion Rush were tried. With the first two devices cope normally. Sometimes there were small jerks at the beginning of the games, but otherwise there were no problems. But the last game turned out to be more demanding on system resources, and sometimes there were very noticeable slowdowns.

The sound of the speaker in all devices is approximately the same volume, but the A606 plays melodies a little louder than its colleagues. In any case, the call signal will be easy to hear. True, for all models, the speakers do not reproduce low frequencies.

The older model has an 8 megapixel sensor, the rest have 5 megapixels. All phones have flashes, but the A328 doesn't have autofocus, which is something to keep in mind.

The screen shows two large buttons for shooting photos and videos and icons of the selected shooting options. Here you can turn on geotagging, HDR, adjust exposure, apply color effects, thematic scenes (auto, night, sunset, party, portrait, landscape, theater, beach, snow, fireworks, action), white balance, timer, aspect ratio (4: 3 or 16:9), ISO (100 to 1600). There is a slow-motion video mode, you can change the resolution (from QVGA to Full HD). Shooting starts only from the menu, the presence of a dedicated key on the lock screen would not hurt here.

A328 became a clear outsider. The smartphone does not have autofocus, which means that the shooting quality does not indulge, which can be seen in examples where small text on a poster can be difficult to make out. Landscape shots also work out not in the best way: everything is blurry, detail is low. In addition to this, it is worth noting a weak flash. At night, it is generally useless, so we can assume that it is not here, there is a flashlight.

The A536 doesn't perform much better. He also has faded colors in pictures that are not of high quality. The smartphone has autofocus, with the shooting of text, things are better here. But the examples show that the device shoots with artistic blur. Frames are fuzzy, details disappear, the image is even more distorted in low light conditions. But the flash in this model works with a greater return of light.

Budget gadgets are undoubtedly one of the strengths of Lenovo. The world famous and popular brand knows perfectly well how to make a smartphone inexpensive and productive at the same time. All these qualities are combined in the Lenovo A606 smartphone, which we will consider in this review.

Design

The design of the gadget is quite traditional for Lenovo devices, and it can easily get lost among its fellows. Especially without focusing on the appearance, the developers paid more attention to performance. Despite the fact that the device is made of high-quality plastic, it nevertheless boasts an oleophobic coating, so that the owner does not have to worry about dirt and fingerprints on the screen. The new model is only available in black and white.

All external elements of the Lenovo A606 smartphone are located in their usual places. Above the display is a speaker, front camera eye, sensors and a logo, and below the screen are three function keys. A microphone is located on the bottom end face, and a USB connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack are on the top. On the back of the device is a speaker, the main camera with LED flash and a slot for a SIM card.

Screen

The new model Lenovo A606, presented in our review, is equipped with a 5″ display, which is quite enough for watching videos and quite comfortable reading information. However, due to the low resolution of 854x480 pixels, the image is slightly blurry and fuzzy, although the IPS matrix smooths out sharp corners a bit.

Also in Lenovo A606 white, auto-brightness is available, which, however, does not work as fast as we would like. The touchscreen, in principle, functions quite quickly, but only supports two touches, while most budget models have 5 touch points.

Camera

The Lenovo A606 white presented in this review is equipped with an 8 MP main camera with LED flash, autofocus and face recognition. The capabilities of the camera, although not outstanding, correspond to the declared indicators and the cost of the smartphone. There is also a 2 MP front camera. The main camera can shoot video at a resolution of 1920x1080 and record stereo sound, and also has a tracking autofocus function.

Hardware

The hero of our review was stuffed with a rather powerful stuffing. The MT6582M processor with 4 cores and a clock speed of 1.3 GHz not only gave the smartphone good performance, but also made it possible to significantly reduce its cost. At the same time, saving on the processor allowed increasing the amount of RAM to 1 GB.

The gadget was provided with a Mali-400 MP video accelerator, which is quite enough to meet the needs of the device. With built-in memory, things are not very good. Their 8 GB offered in the gadget is only 4.7 GB available. The main amount of memory is reserved for the Android OS and built-in applications. Pleased with the possibility of installing a micro-SD memory card of 32 GB.

System

Smartphone Lenovo A606 provided not the latest version operating system– Android 4.4. However, it must be admitted that it is quite nimble and works properly. On top of Android, the manufacturer's shell is flooded. Some pre-installed programs will be useful, while others will remain untouched. It is worth noting that many applications without root rights will not be uninstallable. If necessary, you can update the firmware via FOTA.

autonomy

Smartphone Lenovo A606 received a removable battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh. When testing battery life, the device showed pretty good results. It is possible to watch video in HD quality at maximum brightness for 6 hours, and in audio playback mode with the display turned off, the gadget was discharged after 67 hours. Full charge smartphone is relatively fast - about two hours.

Gadget pros and cons

Now let's look at the strengths and weak sides this device.

Advantages:

  • good hardware;
  • availability of 4G;
  • acceptable cost.

Flaws:

  • low resolution with a large screen diagonal;
  • one sim card
  • scarcity of colors.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, it should be said that the Lenovo A606 clearly showed one shortcoming of the company. The manufacturer, improving one characteristic, automatically degrades other parameters. So, for example, due to savings on the display, the developers upgraded the hardware. In general, the smartphone left a good impression of itself, but minor flaws still spoil the picture.

The video review presents full review device with consideration of all its features.

Lenovo is a trusted manufacturer of PCs and laptops, and now the company has also branched out into smartphones. She gave Special attention in this area in 2014 and began to intensify production. One of the new products capable of working in 4G networks is Lenovo A606. The phone comes with four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores of a MediaTek MT6582M processor and 1GB of RAM. There is an 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP one on the front. 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB using micro SD cards. In addition, there are a few things about the design and interface of the phone that give the device a slight advantage over competitors in the same price range (under $100).

Design

Smartphone "Lenovo A606" is simple and elegant, behind and in front it has nothing superfluous. Dimensions - 141.5x73.2x9.1 mm - are standard. The width of the screen bezel is in line with other mid-range phones, although, for example, the Note 4 or Ascend Mat 7 have already gotten rid of it.

Unlike most smartphones, Lenovo has chosen to place the charging and headphone jacks on the top panel. Under them on front side the speaker grill is located. At the bottom there are 3 capacitive buttons that do not have a backlight, which negatively affects the functionality of the phone. There is nothing on the left. The frame along the edge is trimmed with a beautiful metal strip. Another design benefit is the less rounded corners, which enhance the elegance of the phone. Otherwise, the A606 would resemble the shape of the Galaxy Core, which, according to some users, really spoils the appearance of the smartphone. The back panel is also sleek and very simple. Lenovo has used a quality plastic that provides a good grip. In the upper part there is a camera with a flash, and directly below them is the manufacturer's logo, which is much larger than on the front side.

The weight of the device is 170g. The phone is a little heavy, but given that it is a 5-inch model with 4G support, this is acceptable. It is easy to wear and fits easily in your jeans pocket. Cover for "Lenovo A606" is not included.

Performance

The overall performance of the phone is satisfactory. The Lenovo A606 scores 19,206 on AnTuTu, which outperforms its quad-core counterparts Honor 3C and QMobile i12, but slightly behind the 4G Huawei Ascend Y550. The speed of LTE operation depends on the operator. According to user reviews, "Lenovo A606", the characteristics of the smartphone allow you to surf the web, view media content in in social networks, download files and watch HD videos online. In this case, there are no interference in communication. However, this largely depends on the network, and signal strength can change the speed of the Internet from region to region.

The Lenovo A606 has battery specs roughly on par with the Lenovo S850, as both phones are equipped with similar 2000 mAh batteries. Intense HD web video viewing, games, etc. do not affect power consumption very much. And only after connecting to 4G, the battery charge drops right before our eyes.

User interface: instruction

Lenovo A606 will appeal to many Android fans thanks to its clear icons and great interface customization options. The model is equipped with the Lenovo Launcher, which has a catchy design and supports a wide range of applications. It is beautifully integrated with the KitKat operating system.

The interface features many good things worth mentioning. First, the company introduced a notification screen lock feature that can prove to be extremely useful today. Following in the footsteps of Huawei and contrary to Samsung, the shell of the operating system does not offer a separate interface for home screens and applications, but provides a single start page. Posted here software Lenovo with a fresh approach. The panel allows you to have multiple home screens. If you want to change the interface of the start page, you can install Google Now or any other popular downloader from the store Play store. There you can find all the main Google services, such as maps, disc, news feed, photos, music, YouTube, etc.

There are enough opportunities for setting up the Lenovo A606. There is an option to change the settings of the notification panel. After calling the menu with the left button, you can add additional screens, change themes and wallpapers, change interface settings.

Message bar

The notification menu is opened by swiping down on the display. This will bring up 5 hotkeys and all connectivity options i.e. Wi-Fi, mobile data, maps, Bluetooth and offline. In the right upper corner there is a button thanks to which you can see all the notification icons, among which there is a button for calling the settings panel. It's usually on the top right, but Lenovo has made it available that way. The settings panel can also be accessed through a separate app on the home page. Notifications can also be viewed from the lock screen.

Display

The Lenovo A606 smartphone has a 5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 480x854 pixels, the density of which is 196 dpi, which is a rather low value. Since this is a 4G phone for people who like to surf the web, the resolution could be higher. But given the price range, LTE connectivity and a 5-inch display are factors that offset this disadvantage, so this seems like a reasonable solution. The picture quality is good and allows you to watch movies. Viewing angles are also in perfect order.

As far as social media is concerned, low screen resolution is not a problem, but for users who are used to spending maximum time on video platforms such as YouTube, visit many sites and love games with full graphics, the device will not allow you to enjoy it to the full, although it is completely and will not disappoint.

Safety

Lenovo A606 is different elevated system security. Unlike standard solutions such as PIN and swipe, there is a special application that provides and guarantees safe work with phone. The program includes an antivirus that scans the smartphone's software to detect spyware and adware. There is also a Safe Web Browsing utility that protects against malicious applications. The privacy protection program restricts access to personal information, location, camera, calls and messages. In an age where Facebook and Google are working with SD cards, Lenovo says this feature ensures personal data security. The anti-spam service allows your phone to automatically block unwanted SMS and calls. You can create a blacklist of spammers. In addition, the application allows you to block night calls and filter the contacts to whom they will be allowed. In addition, you can set the period of time during which you are prohibited from receiving incoming calls. Privacy Space gives the user the freedom of full control over the smartphone in areas such as contacts and messages, filtering out those that you want to hide from strangers. Anti-Theft will provide protection from kidnappers. After entering a secure number mobile phone you can receive an SMS message on it when the thief replaces the SIM card. The parental control feature allows you to restrict children's access to any application.

Face and voice recognition

You can unlock the Lenovo A606 by simply looking at the screen through the Face Lock function. There are backup login settings in case the smartphone does not recognize the user's face. It can be unlocked using a predefined pattern or PIN. Facial recognition only occurs in vertical position devices. Slight tilt to the side, back, or forward can make it difficult to identify and unlock your phone.

The Voice Lock function is also available, for which the voice of the owner must be recorded. To do this, the command must be repeated 6 times, and for safety net, you will need to enter a PIN code or pattern.

Music player

You can't expect anything extraordinary from a mid-range phone, which is true for its multimedia part as well. While the Lenovo A606 has unconventional features, the presentation is crucial. The audio player interface is elegant. No clutter like most android phones, all buttons are well placed. Its detail has also increased compared to the S850. While listening to a song, you can read its lyrics. Like most Android smartphones, it lacks an equalizer, but it's easy to download and install a third-party solution from the app store.

Video viewing

The large 5-inch screen of the model is perfect for watching the latest seasons of your favorite series and other videos. According to user reviews, there is no interference with this, but it is disappointing that there is no way to control the sound and brightness of the image using simple swipes. To do this, you need to download the MX player. But some owners were pleasantly surprised to find that the manufacturer has introduced fast forward and rewind buttons, thanks to which you can scroll through the video. This is also a good view control option.

To manage files, a special file browser is installed, which users respond positively to. It shows multiple tabs, similar to Google's News Feed tabs. Gallery provides a preview of all media files.

Lenovo A606: camera

Smartphone manufacturers are aiming to release devices with improved image sensor performance. Lenovo this time limited itself to only 8 megapixels of the main camera and 2 megapixels of the front one. Considering the price range, this is good enough. The camera app allows a variety of shooting modes, including normal, HDR, face beauty, panorama, smile shutter, and live photo. You can adjust various image settings such as sharpness, hue, saturation, and brightness before taking a photo.

With auto focus, it is also possible to capture an image with focus tracking and set the white balance or ISO sensitivity according to the ambient light. Multiple scene options are offered, such as Night, Sunset, Party, Beach, Portrait, Landscape, Fireworks, Sports, etc. The best thing about the camera is that that indoor shots are excellent. However, in both normal and HDR modes, slight image distortion becomes noticeable when the image is enlarged.

Instead of a conclusion

Given the current 4G craze, the Lenovo A606 could be perfect choice for those who are thinking of switching to an affordable LTE phone. What users like the most is having 4G at such a low price and also a 5-inch screen that doesn't feel like it's low resolution. The interface is simple and a large number of security features provides additional benefits. The only thing I don't like is the poor sound quality. The closest direct competitor to the Lenovo A606 is the Huawei Ascend Y550, a 4G phone with a similar price but a 4.5-inch display.
