False wall for beer taps made of metal. DIY bar counter

In this article I will tell you what I spent the money on, what difficulties I will have to face, what beer is better to order, and how much you can earn from it.

Where to begin?
The first step is to decide where you want to locate your store. It is desirable that this is a walk-through place and there are no competitors. A good place for a draft beer store is 100% successful.

What is the minimum area?
Minimum area from 20 m2. Our stores are 60 m2 and 70 m2, that is, on average it is 50 m2. If it is 20 m2, that’s also not a problem, but you will have a small warehouse, little space for buyers, little space for sellers, etc.

We were looking for a square area of 50-60 squares. Where I wanted to place a store, the rent was 60,000. The landlord made concessions to us and gave us a 50% discount for the first month, that is, I paid 30,000, as well as an advance payment of 60,000. He also took 5,000 for utilities, so I paid 95,000 in the first month.

Premises security
There are a lot of security companies in the city; they install sensors around the perimeter for free, and we pay 3,000 rubles a month for security of our premises. That is, they give us a quick response button, and when we press it, security arrives within 5 minutes.
Construction of a store. Construction cost us 40,000 rubles. This includes materials, construction of false walls, warehouse, counter, painting.

Accounting
Next, we install a computer, a 1C Retail system, which handles sales and audits. That is, we enter into it how much beer has arrived, the seller sells within a month and we look in the system how much beer we have left, weigh it so that the audit matches. 1C, man, computer cost us 45,000.

CCTV
The next stage is video surveillance. I recommend installing video surveillance, because there are many controversial situations with sellers and buyers, in which case video surveillance will show everything. In our case, this is a 6000 camera, 4000 installation, editing, a total of 10,000.

Signboard
How to make a sign? You can call 3 companies that are engaged in the installation of advertising structures, they measured it and each told their price. I chose which one was cheaper and ordered. It cost 24,000 rubles. This amount included a sign with lighting and installation, 3 meters long, 1 meter wide.

Procurement
We spent 45,000 on the purchase. This includes 10 types of beer + kvass + lemonade. Fish and snacks cost 18,000 rubles. It’s better to immediately make a large assortment of fish and snacks so that customers have a choice. The more choice there is in the store, the better for you. We also spent 5,000 rubles on bottles. There are many suppliers, one bottle costs on average 4.50 to 5.50. We immediately purchased for 5,000 rubles.

Refrigerated display case for fish. In our case, this is the Arctic, two meters, cost us 30,000 rubles. The fish is beautifully laid out and stored in it.

Other small items – 5,000 rubles.

We spent 310,000 rubles to open the store.

Be prepared for monthly expenses, such as salaries to sellers, taxes, and purchases.

What should you pay attention to when opening a store?
Firstly, it is better to sell locally bottled beer, since people are familiar with it. Secondly, opening a store is very important; you need to organize some kind of promotion to stimulate sales. Thirdly, the shelf life of beer. Live beer costs 3-5 days, pasteurized beer costs 8-10. Never sell expired beer, as a customer who buys such beer once will not buy it again. Fourthly, markup. It averages from 60 to 100%.

About profitability
So, how much can you earn from this? Using our store as an example, in order for us to break even, we must trade for 250,000 rubles, which is approximately 8,000 rubles per day. We are successfully implementing this plan. Our average daily revenue is 11,000-17,000 rubles.

What kind of rack is it and why is it needed when opening a pub?

The rack is made immediately behind the false wall in order to optimize the storage space, coolers do not take up space among the kegs and so that the beer routes are the shortest distance, because it is important for us that the beer is cold!

It is made from timber with a minimum thickness of 50mm. Width 600 mm and Height 1000 mm, length equal to the length of your wall. Coolers are installed on the rack when installing beer equipment, so it is important that when our technician arrives, the false wall and rack are ready!

Is there delivery of draft beer to Zelenograd?

Yes, there is, see our delivery area in the section.

What can’t you use to make a false wall for beer? And what is its width?

The wall into which the Pegasuses (taps for selling draft beer) crash must be strong and stable. Drywall cannot be used; all other materials are acceptable.

The minimum thickness of the material should be 10 mm and the maximum 16 mm.

If your design idea for the design of the wall is not included in these parameters, we will come up with something and definitely decide how to install taps in your beer wall.

What documents are needed to cooperate with the Beer Capital?

  • - Certificate of state registration or Record Sheet;

  • - Certificate of tax registration;

  • - Lease agreement for commercial premises or Certificate of ownership;

  • - Buyer’s details on a form with a sample of the “first” signature, a seal impression (if there is a seal);

  • - a copy of the passport indicating the place of residence;

  • - Licenses (permits) for the sale of strong alcohol (if available);

  • - ID codes: (EGAIS);

additionally for legal entities:

  • - Charter (including pages indicating the address of location and powers of governing bodies);

  • - Notification of registration with the tax authority at the actual location (notice of assignment of checkpoint), if the legal and actual addresses are different with reference to the Unified State Automated Information System;

  • - Extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (no later than one month);

  • - A document confirming the authority of the manager (decision or protocol);

Is it worth buying a beer business?

Yes, only for a reasonable price, or better yet, before purchasing, call us (84951518585) and find out how things were going with this store, which is now for sale, we will advise you (be sure to check with individual entrepreneur or LLC).

In fact, really evaluate the cost of the store’s property, and this is usually cash register equipment, a refrigerator and a split system for it, a refrigerated display case for fish, bar equipment, tables, chairs, and other things, if any. Please be aware that bottling equipment for pouring beer is not, as a rule, property (we provide it for use). Take into account the wear and tear of all property and negotiate with the seller to a price that is acceptable to you.

I consider it important, after purchasing a ready-made live beer store, to inform its regular customers about the change of owner and upcoming changes. Suddenly someone stopped going there, knowing that there was a careless salesman there, for example, who knew nothing about beer and could not recommend anything. It’s better to even change the sign, the name, so that everyone passing by will notice.

After all, you will run your beer bottling business your own way!

Good afternoon Do you provide non-alcoholic drinks for sale?

The video demonstrates the assembly of a beer outlet for 10 varieties with Pegasus Novotap, metal versions of the famous live beer dispensing devices. The Pegasus was installed in a false wall made of chipboard. (Also see the article on how to install Pegasus novotap into a wall). The beer coolers used were coolers manufactured by IMI Cornelius.

At this point there was no provision for pouring beer into glasses, and there were also no beer columns.

Using this equipment installation diagram, in a draft beer store you can install any beer system configuration that best suits your outlet.

Firstly: you should decide whether you will install a false wall in the store to install defoamers in it, or whether you will give preference to installing a bar counter and then attaching defoamers to beer columns (towers).
If the area of the retail space and its configuration allow you to install a temporary wall across the room from floor to ceiling - in this case, all coolers, a gas cylinder and all beer kegs will be located behind this false wall and will not get in the way.
A variant of a false wall is a false panel. It is attached in various ways to a load-bearing wall, behind or under which you will install equipment and kegs.

Very often, a false panel is installed on the front wall of a cold room (the so-called “cool room”) and defoamers are already attached to it.
If you prefer to design your outlet with a bar counter, then the equipment, cylinder and beer kegs will most likely be located directly under the bar counter, or, if possible, will be taken to the utility room using thermally insulated hoses.

Secondly: you should decide whether you will use beer supplied to the bottle through coolers or whether the area of the room and the availability of financial resources allow you to install a cold room (“cool room”).
The cooler delivers beer or any other drink into the defoamer and then into the bottle at a temperature of about 4-5 °C. In this case, the beer itself is stored in the main room at normal room temperature of about 20-25 °C. This mode of storing beer in kegs is not recommended by manufacturers. In this case, beer does not last long. There is a risk that it will deteriorate before it is fully realized.
This risk is significantly reduced if your beer kegs are stored in a cold room at a temperature of 11-12 °C and then, passing through cooler flows, the beer is served to the buyer at a temperature of 4-5 °C.
Some owners of live draft beer stores set their cold rooms to operate at 4-5 °C, thus avoiding the need for additional installation of coolers in the system. In this case, you should competently approach the adjustment of the operating pressure of carbon dioxide supply to the system, reducing it to 1-1.5 atmospheres (a specialist installer of beer equipment will tell you the exact value of the gas pressure in the system).

Third: If you decide that you will install a bar counter in your beer store, then you can use two main methods of installing defoamers with this installation scheme.
- DEFATHERS ARE INSTALLED IN BEER COLUMNS (towers). This is a rather expensive method, since each beer tower is an additional considerable expense for its purchase, and the towers will be needed at the rate of 2 defoamers per tower - a considerable number;

- DEFATHERS ARE INSTALLED IN THE BEER BOX, mounted on top of the bar counter. This is kind of the same false wall, but in miniature.
The costs of manufacturing and installing a beer box are relatively low, since it is made from laminated chipboard, which is not difficult to find for sale in any construction hypermarket. In such a box, based on the distance between the defoamers of at least 130 mm, many taps can be placed. For example, 10 defoamers can be easily installed in a 1500mm long beer box. Moreover, all hoses - both beer and gas - are hidden from the eyes of buyers behind the walls of the box. A very convenient and aesthetic solution.

A bar counter today is not only a tribute to fashion, but also, in some cases, a need to save living space. It is often used to separate the cooking area from the combined living room. Another use is as a narrow long table along the wall, if there is no room for a standard dining table. But, as you might guess, the design bar counter, erected with your own hands, saves not only space, but also money. And using your imagination, you can make a very presentable stand from scrap materials.

Today we have an unusual publication. Our example was built not in an apartment, as usual, but in a basement converted into a beer bar.

DIY bar counter

So, the idea was to equip a sports bar in a small basement. The central element of the interior, of course, will be DIY bar counter built from boards and plywood. Let's complement it with high chairs, large TVs and sports paraphernalia on the walls - and a stylish interior is ready.

The material was chosen according to the “cheap and cheerful” principle. On the one hand, plywood is an affordable material, on the other hand, plywood has a noble wood texture and, properly processed, looks beautiful and expensive. In addition, the plywood bar counter, coated with varnish, is not afraid of moisture, which is important for both the bar and the kitchen.

The height of the bar counter was chosen to be 120 cm, length 3 m, width (along the frame) 60 cm. The total width of the tabletop was 75 cm (15 cm – overhang on the front side).

The frame was made of boards on nails. Two flat gratings were connected to each other and rigidly fixed to the wall and floor. The most difficult thing at this stage is to maintain the upper edges of the frame in a horizontal plane. In our case, the room was initially carefully floored, so the task was reduced to creating even rectangular frames. In the opposite situation, I think it would be necessary to carry out the structures locally.

Since the renovation affected the entire interior of the room, the walls were painted at the same time. Behind the bar counter, the bottom of the wall was covered with plywood in order, on the one hand, to protect it from damage, and on the other, to maintain the uniform style of the room. The plywood was pre-tinted.

We already talked about how to tint plywood in the article about making a room, but I’ll repeat it. The best option for application at home is a warm lamp mixture of oils and waxes. For example, brandsOSMO. Apply in several layers with a roller (usually 2-3). Before and after each painting we sand the plywood, and after the last one we polish it.

We sew up the vertical edges of the bar counter. Actually, we sew up the front “facade” and the side edge, since the space inside the bar structure will be used for storage. In addition, above the drawers below there will be a shelf - a table for the bartender.

We install a plywood shelf and build in a sink (the hole for it has been sawed in advance).

To give the interior respectability, we imitate expensive panels. To do this, we fix square frames made of wooden profile slats on plywood, decorate the bottom of the panels with a high wooden plinth, and also cover the top of the wall panels with a profile slats. All elements are pre-tinted.

Let's move on to the construction of the bar countertop. It consists of two sheets of plywood. To make it convenient to use the built-in sink and shelf space, it was decided to make the tabletop in the form of a squat letter “P”. The edge of the tabletop will be decorated with a wooden edge. We will make it from a plinth with a beautiful curve on the front edge and a flat back plane.

To make such a tabletop, we lay two sheets of plywood on top of each other. Please note that the top sheet is smaller than the bottom sheet to allow room for the bead to be installed. We glue the plywood sheets with casein glue and leave them under load for two days. Then, for reliability, we connect the plywood sheets together with screws from the wrong side, having previously drilled the necessary holes. We choose the length of the screws to be slightly less than the total thickness of the tabletop. A total of 5 screws were screwed in: 4 close to the corners, one in the middle. We make the drink in the already glued tabletop with a single cut of a jigsaw. We cover the end of the drink with a wooden profile.

We install the tabletop on the structure and secure it to the frame. We install the board.

We carefully sand and paint the remaining white ends of the stand, and frame the corners with corners. We seal the joints between the wooden elements and plywood with wood putty to match. After the putty has dried, cover the structure with two layers of varnish. On this DIY bar counter ready.

We are installing a beer tower. For those who are interested in how it actually works: we, of course, took factory equipment. In the next room there is a refrigerator where kegs of beer are placed, and a cylinder of carbon dioxide that creates pressure in the system. Hoses are led through the wall to the beer tower. Nothing complicated)

And now the promised interior decorations: three large TVs, themed posters, decorative shelves with beer mugs.

Another interesting idea for creating a bar counter with your own hands in this video:
